CANDY GIVEAWAY WHEN I REACH THE MAGIC '50' .... FOLLOWERS THAT IS!!!

Hi there to all my blog friends and buddies!  I am doing this very quick post so that the Candy Prize is on my blog for you.  This prize has 10 items in it at the moment - however there are a couple more bits and pieces to be added.

When I get to the magic number of 50 followers, I will be drawing a prize winner.  I would like to see genuine bloggers entering for this and not just someone who is after a prize - ie I want to be able to nip over to your blog and see your creations as well!!!  I have had a couple of comments left recently where off I toddled and found a company being advertised rather than a blog.  Disappointed or what!!!

Big hugs to you all as usual - I will be back checking your blogs soon!  I have had a dose of lost mojo since Friday - because I am thinking too hard for the 10 year Anniversary card.  Give me a Twinchie any day.

PS  Feel free to put the piccy on your sidebar if you would like to.

TWINCHIE 2 FOR CHALLENGE NO 8

Hi there blog friends - ooops here's another Twinchie - I just can't keep away from them.  I do try to keep them to a minimjum of two per Challenge though - then I know if I can't resist at least I'll have another one to have a go at!!  Eeh I'm such a sad soul!!! lol!

Anyway here's my next one for you to check out - not exactly frightening but funnily spooky!

Hope you like the bats - I've put them on little springs which I made (twisted a piece of wire around a cocktail stick). They do wobble if you give em a good twang! They are very very fiddly but I just wanted them to stand off the surface a little and they have a lovely shadow in the right light. When hubby photographed it he said he had a little trouble getting rid of the 'red-eye' so he didn't bother - he will have his little joke!

This is another digi stamp from the lovely lady who is at http://deariedollsdigis.blog.com/.  I didn't want to do the eyes as normal - I wanted them to be red and shiny!!!   I coloured everything with my Promarkers and used a mask for the ghosty and another for a moon shape in the corner.  Then I used my Ink Dusters to brush Faded Jeans, Dusty Concord and Black Soot over the image.  I then used some Glossy Accents on the eyes and a Sakura Glaze pen over the black handle on the pumpkin.

I hope you like my second Twinchie - I don't use many embellishments if I use an image because I don't think it's necessary.  If I don't use an image though - then that's a different story and I might go a tad OTT.

I am entering this one into the Twinchie Challenge No 8 - Spooky Stuff.  http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/challenge-8-spooky-stuff.html.

Ta ta for now mes amies - I am now sorting my piccy out for my blog candy.  Catch you soon - hope you manage to leave a little comment on my Twinchie - you might think this is tooooo twee!  Just let me know, I love reading your comments.   It's getting to the point where I feel as if I know a lot of you now, even though we have never met - is that me being daft again - no don't answer that one, I already know the answer.  Chuckling to meself as usual.

Big Hugs to you all

TWINCHIES CHALLENGE NO 8 - SPOOOOOOOOKY STUFF!!

Hi there blog friends - there I was, supposed to be making the anniversary card (the one I mentioned yesterday) and I suddenly remembered the Twinchie challenge - what more can I say???  I was drawn to do something a tad spooky - or maybe not - I couldn't manage to put the eight-legged beastie on the web!!!  I've never made anything like this before as I wasn't - repeat wasn't - into Halloween.  I had such fun with this little piece though - I was in my filament (yup I know it should be element but this is a little joke between me 'n' hubby).  I am a huuuge fan of Halloween now.

Anyway here is my Twinchie - the digi image was a freebie from a lady on the internet (http://deariedollsdigis.blog.com/).  I just thought it was cute.  The eight-legged beastie web was on a sheet of stamps by Aly Higginbottom (www.alysinkyfingers.co.uk).  The silhouette stamps are fairly small and on a sheet called 'Essential Fairy'.  I coloured the image with me trusty Promarkers and then masked it out and used cut 'n' dry to go over the whole thing with Faded Jeans, Dusky Concord and Black Soot.  I also used the Black Soot for the web and then white pen for the Ooooooooooo - which hubby thought was a chain - bless his cotton socks.

As mentioned earlier I am entering this in the Twinchie Challenge no 8 - http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/challenge-8-spooky-stuff.html.  I love this challenge to bits!

Hope you like this bit of fun - thank you for stopping by, please leave a word or three if you have the time.  You know I love reading them.

Hugs to you all

ANOTHER TASTE OF MARMITE - YUK YUK OR YUM YUM???

Hello again blog friends - the last week has flown by and I still haven't completed everything I wanted to.  We did do some more gardening though and I have a photograph for you, just to show you the stand that Graham made to put the planters on.  We can see these from the kitchen window and we want to ensure there are trailing plants in there in summer.  The ground is really soggy at the moment so we've had to put some support under each leg of the stand.

This is going to be a lot easier for me as I can't bend too well and I can reach these.  There is a method in his madness - you see!!

Anyway - this is the card I am posting today, it was made earlier this year at the request of my friend.  A friend of hers was approaching a milestone birthday and as she is 'the life and soul of the party' type, it was felt a humerous card like this would really be appreciated.  I had to change the number of years on the sentiment because it actually said "It was a smiley face 50 years ago".

As I've said before, I know that, on one hand, many of you don't like these stamps, but on the other, many of you love them - hence the reference to marmite.   This one does make me smile though and I do know that it made the birthday girl giggle - alot!!!

Unfortunately this was made prior to me starting my blog and, although it was photographed, I didn't take notes of the paper/card I used.  I think you can see that there are a few Spellbinder dies there and I used some vintage ribbon, buttons and also Dew Drops from my stash.

I do hope that some of you like this one as much as I do.  Anything that makes me chuckle is OK by me.

I had five requests for cards last week - but I didn't start any as I was having my week off - now I have to get down to it.  I'm making a 10 year Anniversary card for my next door neighbours to give to their friends.  I also have four 'special' Christmas cards to make for an ex-colleague who I worked with.  He has 18 year old twins - one girl and one boy so, whilst I am blogging, I thought I would ask my blog friends if they know of any funny/jokey/comedy type Christmas stamps that I can use on the card for his 18 year old son.

Any thoughts would be really welcome, I don't mind what type of stamp ie solid or digi.

I had a look for some challenges yesterday and I would like to enter my card into the following -

Anything Goes Challenge No 78 - Make Your Own Embellishments - http://anythingchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/challenge-78-make-your-own.html

Oops nearly forgot - big hugs to you all out there and thanks for stopping by my blog, I love reading any comments you may leave - especially the ones that make me smile!  You should know by now that I have a wicked and warped sense of humour.

I will be back soon with a piccy of my blog Candy, I hope you like it when you see it and tell your friends to also check it out.  Once I get to 50 followers I will pick a winner or my hubby and best friend will pick one for me.  Not sure how to do the random gadget thingy so hubby is as random as I get LOL!!!

LAST POST ......... FOR A WEEK ANYWAY!!!

Hi there blog friends - and a massive hello to my new followers.  I had 32 followers last time I looked and now I have 45 - wow I had better sort out some Candy for when I reach the magic 50!!  I already have some things for the prize but I don't have any pics - you will just have to trust me!!! lol!

Before I have a week away from the laptop, I am posting a card that I made a while ago.  I made it because (at the time) I had never made a bluey-green card and I had just received the Core-dinations Whitewash Collection pad.  I loved it so much that I had to have a play with it there and then.  I had also just received some Sarah Kay rub-ons - I have now used these twice!  The card and floral paper that I used was from my stash - unfortunately I have lost the labels - the dies are Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles and also Oval Window.  I cut two windows and then took out the middle cross section of each one before cutting them in half.

When the window pieces were embossed I gave them a quick rub over with some glass/sand paper.  The whitewash effect came off leaving a beautiful greeny colour underneath (I think this one is called Watering Can).   I put everything together as in the picture and added some little glittered roses!   I put a ribbon down the side - this is from the Vintage collection that Sue Wilson has shown on C & C.

I was quite pleased with the colours, simply because I don't make 'greeny' cards normally.

I hope you like this card - I would have preferred it if I had stamped it and then coloured it, but at the time I didn't have the Sarah Kay stamps only the rub-ons.

I am entering this card in the following challenges
Creative Inspirations No 184 - Anything Goes - http://cinspirations.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/challenge-184-anything-goes.html

SHOW US YOUR TWINCHIES NO 7 - ANYTHING GOES (NO 2)

Good afternoon my lovely blog friends and I must say a huuuuge hello to my new followers it's so nice to have you checking over my blog bits and pieces - thanks to all of you for your comments, you have been truly brilliant with your kind words.

We've had a pootle out to the Garden Centre this morning because we had to buy the extra bulbs, soil and plants that were needed to finish off the pots and planters.  The sun has been shining here and it was a really nice drive.  My lovely hubby treated us to a coffee/tea and a piece of cake - they always have home-made cakes yum yum!

Anyway I thought that I would post another Twinchie today.  As you probably know by now, I love them and was actually playing about with a few snips and bits to see what I could come up with.

I've had some new dies and was trying them out because I wanted to send some diecuts to a friend. The first one didn't emboss properly, my fault,  so I put it to one side to use (for something or other) later on.  The diecut that didn't emboss properly was the Anja's Square die (which I had been trying to get hold of forevvvva) so I chopped the corner hearts off and stuck/glued/adhered them - whatever floats yer boat - to a snippet of pale turquoisy blue card from my bit box.  I tweaked them a bit to 'cushion' them out a little.  The base card is covered with a teeny morsel of gorgeous handmade paper.  I put the hearts on top of this with Pinflair glue, to keep them raised, and then added some of the teeny tiny punched flowers that I found in my stash a while ago.

I know this is a very very simple Twinchie made from bits and pieces but I'm a firm believer in waste not want not and I keep so many snips etc that it is a shame not to use them.

The middles of the flowers are Cosmic Shimmer Pearl PVA which tended to flatten out on this type of card so I had to tweak them with a cocktail stick as they were drying.  Bit messy!!!

I'd like to enter this into the Show us Your Twinchies Challenge No 7 - Anything Goes - http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/challenge-7-anything-goes.html.

I hope you like my Twinchie.  Thank you for stopping by and checking it out - I would love you to leave a comment, if you have time of course.  Hope to catch up with you all soon, it's wonderful that you are interested in being followers of my meanderings.

Big hugs to you all out there and I wish you happy crafting.

SHOW US YOUR TWINCHIES - NO 7 ANYTHING GOES

Hello there lovely blog friends, I would like to say a special hello to my new blog follower Susan.  It is great having you following my blog wafflings.

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments made about my last post - the inspiration coming from when I was in the dentist's chair - yuk!    My blog friend Susan F (Craftin' Suzie) made me giggle when said she spent her time staring at the clock, willing it to go round so that she could escape.   Unfortunately my dentist doesn't have one in the surgery, so my alternative is to either look up his nose (I can just about see that far without my glasses on) or close my eyes tightly ..... you can see what I do ..... I shut my eyes and think of cards of course!!!

I was going to do some tidying up today and then I was going to sort out my new dies but, as usual, I was distracted and decided to do a Twinchie instead.  I covered my 2" piece of card (such a job and a half - lol) with EcoGreen paint then painted some cogs and shapes from EcoGreen.  I stamped the base with a floral stamp then stamped across the cogs/shapes with a music score stamp.  I went around all the edges with a Zig silver pen.

When these were all dry, I stuck them onto the base with Cosmic Shimmer Clear glue and added a few 'pearls' made from Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA.  I found a lovely brad in my stash and stuck it through a flower in the opposite corner.

Ingredients
EcoGreen Eco Friendly Paints - Stormy, Lake, Aged Silver, Periwinkle and Pomegranate
La Blanche Floral and Music Score Background Stamps
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Glue
Cosmic Shimmer Dark Bronze and Pearlescent PVA
EcoGreen Shapes
Zig Silver Calligraphy Pen
Flower/Fancy Brad from stash

I hope you like this, I will be entering it into the Show us Your Twinchies challenge No. 7 - Anything Goes - http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/challenge-7-anything-goes.html.

Thank you for stopping by my blog, I love reading your comments so I do hope you have time to leave a word or two.

Bigs hugs to you all

I'VE SURVIVED THE DENTIST - YAY!!

Hello lovely blog friends - I am just posting this quickly because I have just returned from the dentist and am in one piece!!!  Thanks to all of you who sent me good luck messages because I am such a wimp!  I am in slow motion at the moment until the meds wear off.

I thought I would take the opportunity to send a message to Christine Hussey, just in case you didn't see my response to your comments on my Tractor card.  Would you leave me your email on this post - I will remove it as soon as I have it.  I can email you properly then re the stamps etc.

Hugs to my followers and I hope you will stop by again when I post my next card - which I was designing in my head whilst in the dentist chair!!!  Some good came out of the trauma then - lol!!!

I do hope that this post makes sense - well as much sense as I normally make!

DOWN ON THE FARM - HUBBY'S BIRTHDAY CARD

Hi there my lovely blog friends this is the card I made for hubby's birthday.  Bless him, he doesn't look or act his age which is good 'cos as you may realise by now, I am as mad as a box of frogs and he has to put up with me!

I do have trouble with male cards - however, this sketch is on the Sketch 'n' Stash Challenge blog and I really liked it so thought I would use it for his card.  Then I found the stamp and remembered that he spent a lot of time on his uncle's farm when he was very young.  Apparently his uncle taught him to drive his tractor when he was only 6 - for any H&S peeps out there, yes we all know this was naughty but it was a few years ago now - lol!  I just thought this would remind him of when he was a young boy and how much fun he had then.  Not as much fun as he has now of course!!!!!   Perhaps putting the 65 on was a tad wicked, but it made him laugh and he then thought I had polished off two bottles of beer to get the tops - as if!  I have a bag of them in my stash -naturally.

Now for the rest of the card, the button and hessian tied the card in with the tags and also gave it a little more texture - as did the crushed glass glitter.  Anyway he loved it and was chuffed to bits with it all.  I even took him a cup of tea in bed, something he usually brings me - before you think blimey she's spoilt (lol), I do have trouble in the mornings - until I have been up for a while -because I am not too steady on my feet, plus my back is worse then (I'm sticking to that one).  He did wonder why the tide was out (not sure if you know what I mean here, but it's something we say when a cup of tea isn't full to the brim) so I said it was either that or it would have been slopped on each of our 13 stairs, meaning he wouldn't get a full cup either way!

For information, I had decorated the inside with the star paper and a star circle but I had written something mushy on it so hubby decided to keep it to himself - bless.

THREE LITTLE TAGS - DIDN'T GO TO MARKET!

Hello to you mes blog amies - I hope you are all well and have had at least some crafty time this weekend.  It's not really sun worshipping weather is it - so it could be time for crafting instead.  It's hubby's birthday today - yay!! - he has reached the meteoric age of 65 despite being married to moi!  Does that mean I am married to an OAP or ........ as it said on Loose Women the other day - is he still middle-aged (at least for a few more years).   Anyway he is only as old as he feels!!  I am taking him out to lunch, there's a nice little inn beside the River Trent not far from us and they have lurvely food - yum yum!

I would like to say hello to my new follower - thank you so much for joining in, even though you might regret it after seeing how much I love waffling lol!!!   I am telling you all today that I have my 'procedure' at the dentist on Wednesday.  He is going to do a tooth at the front and is going to drill and rod it!  I, needless to say, didn't ask any more because this is my second phobia (sorry to my blog follower Dr Jaya - you are lovely), my first being those eight-legged beasties of course.   I am telling you this again because I shall be almost useless on Tuesday and totally useless on Wednesday.  Nothing new then!   Anyway back to my post!

I am posting the three tags I made for hubby's birthday presents - they aren't too feminine and I know he likes them because he said so when he took the piccies.  Naturally he has no idea that they will be on his gifts, 'cos I normally forget to make any tags for them!  Ooops.

I cut the tags out of Kraft card and covered the top half of each one with a variety of papers from Kanban and Joanna Sheen.  I stamped the lower half of each with La Blanche stamps.   My embellishments included FLOWERS (something beginning with F*), hessian, raffia, twine, buttons, brads and ticket tags.
