MALE COLLEAGUE'S RETIREMENT CARD

Hello there blog buddies - the only thing I created yesterday was either a mess or (as my hubby puts it) chaos!!!   Well I was sitting playing with some Petal  Pairs Punches, supposedly making flowers, but I ended up going off at a tangent as normal.

Because of my lack of creativity yesterday I thought I would post a card I made back in March for an ex colleague of mine.  He is really into his golf and was so looking forward the time when he could spend all day on the 'links'.  Not sure whether this is the right terminology or whether I should have typed 'green'.  Hey ho!

I know these stamps are a bit like Marmite - other brands are available - you either love 'em or hate 'em.  I honestly believe they have their place in the crafting world (lol - I'm on me soap box) and I have several friends who love the cards I make for them using these sets. One of my friend says she has a real good 'guffaw' when she sees them!  Yay.

I don't make many 'adult' male cards - ask my poor hubby if he gets a birthday card!!  Mind you I think I will have to this year because he keeps seeing me making items for challenges, so I DO have the time.

Anyway here is my card

Ingredients :

8 x 8 Kraft card
White card with a stripe in the actual card
Tartan paper from my stash
Co-ordinations card
Labels 1 and 8
That Touch of .... mask
Piece of corrugated card (stripped)
Murray and Ethel stamps
Black Soot DI
Promarkers

I am sure you will tell me if you love or hate this one - please feel free - I love reading your comments, as you know.  Any comment good or bad helps us crafters grow - well that's how I feel anyway.

Big hugs to you all out there in blogland.

I am entering my card in the following challenge(s):

  2. Hi Sue, these Ethel and Murray stamps are hilarious and great sentiments. Not bought any yet but you never know. Julia Watts tried so hard to get everyone to like them on her blog but there was definitely mixed comments on them. I think they are fun and your design is great.

    1. I know Christine and I was soooo happy that she did show them - I have had mine for a long time and have always loved them. I've said before that I'm a giggler and these set me off - I've another couple of cards that I will show at a later date. It does depend on the sense of humour of the recipient though - but a lot of my friends are as bad as me. LOL again.

Hugs to you Sue P xxxx

  17. everything about this card is just great, I love the way you have embellished the card. I am so happy to be coming across great masculine cards like this, I really struggle with guy cards but I am certainly getting a lot of inspiration to make a start on something I find really challenging.
Thanks so much for sharing your card at Anything goes, Just keep on creating, I hope you will continue to play along :)
