BIRTHDAY CARD FOR THOMAS

Good morning peeps and blogsters, thank you all for stopping by and checking out my blog.  Your comments are most welcome, I love reading them all.  I sometimes find comments from peeps who are not followers, nor are they part of challenge DT's, they have just found me and have left a word or two - that is wonderful and I will visit you in return to see what you are up to.  So once again, thanks to you all.

Anyway - to stop any further waffling and digressing (please don't hold me to that), I would like to show you the card I made for Thomas' 14th birthday.  Thomas and Katie are the children of my next door neighbour and I have always made them cards.  Mind you it's getting more and more difficult to think of something for Thomas now that he is growing up.

This year I came up with this one, I had bought the image from Mo Manning's Digital Pencil last year (thinking ahead for once - yay!!) and I am quite pleased with the result.

I left the left-hand side free to write a little note/greeting for him.

Catherine has kept all of the cards I have made for the kids over the years, and she told me that he loved this one so I am well pleased!!

Ingredients

Paul Texting Digi - Mo Manning's Digital Pencil
7"x7" White card blank - Anna-Marie Designs
Satin Silver and Black card - Snippets from stash
Patterned paper - free with Magazine
Brown and Green Card - Core'dinations
Bricked (& Woodgrain) Emb. Folder - Sizzix
Chicken Wire Frame - Cheery Lynn Dies
Virtuoso Music - Memory Box Dies
Photo corners - Die-Namics
Flexmarkers

Well I shall leave you alone now, oooh apart from telling you that Blossom has been exercising (well she needs it and I don't want anyone thinking 'kettle, pot' lol) and it seems to be doing her good.  She is out a lot more now that we are only having intermittent rain (for the mo) and she was standing on the lower branches of the lilac bush.  This means she has either hauled herself up on her tippy toes or jumped - now this in itself would use up 500 calories I am sure!!!!!  I feel certain she was watching the bird table - not for birds you understand, but for bird food!!!   She had neither!!!  Anyway here she is with her 'food' face on -

Sorry to you all for going on about her again but her husband keeps on at her growing waistline so I am doing my best for her. LOL!

Thank you all for checking out my blog, I do hope you pop back again soon.   If you are unwell, please take care of yourselves and if you are fighting fit, stay that way!!!

Big hugs to you all

SUE xxx

  6. Hi Sue,
    me wonderful blogging mate.
Your cards are always so superb, and your seem to find the most wonderful dies, and embossing folders. I am very envious of them. lol. Now that's the green eyed monster coming out in me again, or should I say greedy eyed monster. lol.
Like our dear friend Sue said I too would jump up into the tree branches if I could loose 500 cals to do so. lol.
Then I might have the men in white coats come and take me away, because the neighbours have seen me. lol.
I love Blossoms food face, it looks like mine when there is chocolate about. lol.
    Superb photography again Graham.
Love and Hugs to all in the P household.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  17. Hi Sue. I don't think you could have a better designed card with a subject matter so perfect for a 14 yr old boy. That image reflects that age to a "T". Loved all the textural elements you have on it too. Thomas will be totally thrilled with this one I'm sure. You're a special person to make this for him too. That's a tough age. Loved Blossom's pictures too. Good luck with her diet. Glad you had a little of the sunshine, hope it hangs around until ya'll can dry out. Lovely to see ya at the Playground. TFS & Hugs

  18. Brilliant card Sue! Just perfect for a teenage boy! Gosh I do love the chicken wire, don't tempt me!

The photo of Blossom is lovely, and I ain't a cat person (atchoo). One of our neighbours' cats is on a diet and she ferrets around in our garden looking for any birdseed that might have fallen from feeders or the bird table. She hasn't yet sussed out the 'cut in half' apples we leave for the blackbirds - or maybe fruit and her five a day don't figure in her plans! :)

    Hugs, Di xx
