Thank you for the comments about our weight loss they really are appreciated - must say we now both weigh less than we did 15 years ago!
Anyway, the theme for the Crafty Time Challenge this month is Anything but a Card. This is my last challenge with this lovely team because I have come to the end of my 6 month 'engagement' and I feel it's time for me to leave and give someone else a chance plus it might give me a little more time to do some playing with misters, dies (new ones), stamps and gilding waxes.
I'd got some MDF shapes in my stash so I thought I would make a little wall 'hanger'. The maestro did a bit of drilling here and there so that I could hang the heart on the bottom as well as thread some thin cord through the top. It looked a bit 'mmmm' with just ribbon holding the heart so I looked for some wire in my stash, as you can see I also found some little gold coloured bells and thought 'why not?' so they were twisted in the wire as well.
First of all I painted all the surfaces with Gesso then I picked a rather plain paper and stuck it on the front and back of both pieces. I followed on by having some fun with a splodge of misting ink and some stamping. I used a butterfly stamp over one part and topped it with some Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powder - unfortunately all of this, including some random stamping, can only be seen in daylight. Shame but on such a wet, miserable day even the maestro couldn't show the effects in the pic.
Ingredients
MDF pieces - Dreamees and my stash
Digi - Sherri Baldy (don't know what she's called)
Paper - Best of Brenda Walton at K and Co
White and Blue Vellum - Stash
Gee-sso - Indigoblu
Butterfly Cascade Clear Stamps - Stamps by Chloe
Sentiment stamp - Dandelion Wishes - Rubber Stampede
Spray Ink and Mica Pigment - Phill Martin's 'Chic Moss'
Finishing Touches - Camellia Complete Petals dies - Sue Wilson at Creative Expressions
Pippi Butterfly Die - Memory Box
Pearls - 'Fairytale' selection at Scrapberries
Lace and Flower Stamens - Brenda's Lace and Ribbon Supplies (FB)
Wire and Small Bells - Stash
Copic Markers
I coloured some of the vellum with Tsukineko Brilliance Pigment Ink pads - I saw this on FB where Kathy Mills (of Glitter Girls fame) had used it and her flowers look so pretty that I decided to have a go. The leaves and beige flower have both been coloured with these ink pads. I let it dry and then die cut the petals etc - I will be doing this again because I think they look really nice.
That's enough of me waffling on 'cos I need to tell you that we've been sponsored this month by Sherri Baldy and she is offering three digis to our randomly chosen winner. Let's see what you can make for our theme - don't forget you have a whole month to get your project/s entered!
Still go a couple more to post so I'll be back!
Lots of big hugs to you from a very wet and soggy Nottinghamshire.
