CCC - LIZZIE'S THEME - COOKING UP A STORM

Good afternoon blog friends and followers - just like buses, you don't see one for ages then two come along at once - that's me and my cards today folks!!!

Lizzie has chosen the above theme - in a word FOOD! - for the CCC challenge this time and (apologies to you Lizzie) I had made this one for my ex-colleague so I am hoping that you won't mind.  I promise to make another card to put in my collection for this coming Christmas though.  He asked me to make a card for the mother of a member of staff because she is always baking and sending cakes and goodies into the office for them throughout the year.

What a lovely lady!

Because this was given to the lady and because there were a few 'lumpy' flowers on the front, I made a box to go with it.  The recipe on the card itself is for Gingerbread whilst the one on the box is for a Christmas Cake.  I also popped another recipe on the inside of the card which is for Christmas Pudding!  I have wanted to use these stamps for ages so was really pleased to be asked for this card!!  Oh - they are from LOTV!

Ingredients
7" x 7" White Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Gingerbread lady digi from the internet freebies
Sentiment stamp - LOTV
Recipe stamps - LOTV
Simple Joys 8x8" Paper Pad - LOTV
Flowers - WOC & Anna Marie Designs
Card Candy - Craftwork Cards
Ribbon and Glitter from stash
Promarkers
Sakura Pens
Glossy Accents

Well, I must say that I loved making this card - could that be because it is about my favourite subject - who knows???  You all know that it takes me ages to get my ideas straight in my head before my card comes together but this one came to me in about 10 seconds flat - the quickest ever!!!   In fact it was complete in about 3 hours including the box - and that is really really quick for me - think more about three days usually and you would be nearer the mark!

Hope you don't mind me posting twice in one day but I do thank you for popping back to my blog and leaving a comment if you have had the time.  I really have to go and answer some emails I have received from my blog friends (you know who you are).  I must have at least 10 waiting for replies - ooops!

Lots of hugs to you and I hope you are all as well as can be expected in this weather - spring may be just around the corner though, we have buds showing on the daffodils and crocuses!  Oh and I am looking after a caterpillar at the moment - he came in on the new hot water tank that was fitted and I just couldn't throw him out into the cold.  Oh boy, this sounds so strange even to my ears - lol!   Sooooo at the moment Colin is thriving on a few nasturtium leaves in a little pot on my desk and all is wonderful on Planet Susie!!   I really am not barking mad - just a bit soppy where critters are concerned.
Think I'd better go now!

  12. This is just delightful, and how sweet of your requestor to thank the bake lady for her generosity. Love that you added the gingerbread recipe as an element on the card, and those papers & your flowers were lovely. My bake lady was a digi too, but I didn't see this free one! Even better. She's such a sweet looking person...wish she'd send me some goodies too! Your card is lovely, & I'm sure it made the recipient feel very special. TFS & Hugs

  15. Hi Sue,
    me wonderful blogging mate.
you keep coming up with better cards every time I visit. This is very superb as usual . Love every bit of your wonderful creations.
Now my op has been cancelled today as my blood pressure was through the roof when I had my preassesment this morning. So funny as it has been under control for yonks. Now I need to visit the docs for more medication to bring it down, and they will see what happens to it in a few weeks time. Oh well the joys of old age. lol.
    Fab photography Graham again.
Love to all in the P household, and biggest hugs to all. Especially my Pidgy friend.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
