BRIGHT OR WHAT????

Hi there my blog buddies and followers - with a special hello and welcome to my new followers.  Thank you so much for reading my blog, I love the fact that you pop by to check out the warblings of a weak and feeble woman - OK that really is OTT but it sounds poetic.

I am posting my new DT card for Lady Anne's Challenge - Stamp Anything Goes No 7.  We were given the digi images by Stamp N Doodle as they are sponsoring us this time.   I had some really bright papers and thought they would look nice with the image.   I think this is probably the first time I have truly picked out the paper before I did the colouring - yay!! Anyway here is my card

Did I mention this was bright??  Must admit though, I am quite pleased with the result because you know I am always bemoaning (is that a word) the fact that I don't use orange!   I hope you have a go at the Challenge - here is a link to it http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/3/post/2013/03/7th-stamp-challenge1.html.   You can enter two creations but there is a limit of five challenges that you can enter including this one.  There were some gorgeous cards last time and I am sure there will be again.

As for my card, well you can see that I used faux stitching (once pronounced 'forks' by one tv craft presenter - oops) around the edge, with a few screw top brads and a bit of chicken wire (well it's a diecut piece actually).  I even trawled through the cupboard to find some Card Candi for the corners!  No holds barred eh???

Ingredients

Corrugated Kraft Card 6x6"
Image from Stamp N Doodle
Bo Bunny Papers - On the Go
Orange card from stash
Spellbinders - Labels 4
Cheery Lynn Die - Chicken Wire Frame
Copics/Promarkers
Card Candi
Screw top brads
Dried Marigold Distress Ink
Green ribbony stuff from stash
Orange banner courtesy of some 'puter wizardry

I hope you like this one and also enter the Challenge.  Thank you so much for stopping by, if you don't have time to leave a comment that is fine, lives are busy and I understand.

Anyway big hugs to all my craft buddies and I will pop over to your blogs asap!

SUE

PS - Graham bought me a gorgeous Bailey's choccy Easter Egg - I can confirm that it tasted as good as it looked - yup it has been demolished!!  He still has his though - but seeing as he isn't at work for another four weeks, there's no chance I will be able to pinch a bit.    I can hear you all going "Poor old Graham, not only does she cause his stubby toes but she tries to half-inch his choccy egg!"    AS IF!!!

I am doing a quick edit to my post in order to enter some Challenges - I actually won a couple when I first started but nothing since -lol!!!  I still love entering though - 'cos everyone loves a trier - allegedly.  Guffawing wildly now!

  1. This is fabulous Sue. Orange is so not my colour but this is so bright and cheerful that I love it! I can't blame you for trying to pinch Graham's chocolate! Other people's stuff always tastes better somehow. I used to do it all the time with John - when he was able to eat choccie! I worked on the principle "What's yours is mine and what's mine is my own!!" Pretty fair! Hope you had a good weekend. Love and hugs from Christine xx

  8. What a cheering card Susie, love the chicken wire die. One egg down and one to go, not counting the creme eggs which are incidental aren't they? It was delicious. Have a good day.

  9. What a gorgeous card Susie. I adore those papers and your layout. I admire you usually colouring the image first then picking the paper. I always have to pick out the paper then colour etc. around that. You are very clever sweetie.

Glad you enjoy your lovely Easter egg.

  12. Hi Sue,
my wonderful blog bud. How superb is this eye catching little number. Fabulous colouring and design technics too.I just love everything about it. My mojo has up and gone walk about. So I need your lovely little mojo angel to get me cracking again so to speak. Talking about cracking what's this I hear about you wanting to pinch Graham egg. I will let you into a secret I do it all the time to Tone, pinch his chocs when I have ravished mine. lol. The male of our species seem to have more control over their chocs, and it makes me feel like a little miss greedy. lol. I bet Pidgy is just as good at keeping his chocs too. lol.
In any rate have a wonderful crafty day.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  13. Bright, bold and beautiful! I have to choose my paper before I color, because I'm terrible doing it the other way around. I've tried and it doesn't work well for me..choose paper, sketch design, pull embellishments, then select image and color...must do it in this order. But you have mastered the coloring and then selecting the paper.
Thanks for joining us at Mema's Crafts and sharing your talent. We hope you come back often. Good luck in the draw.
