OSAAT DT CHALLENGE - NO 261 - ANYTHING GOES WITH VINTAGE

Hi there - well unfortunately my post is late because poop happens in life!!  I had this one all sorted ready to post when I realised I'd forgotten what the image was called - quick pop into my saved emails and I found it - she's called 'Holly Girl'.  However I also found out that I'd made a sweet little Christmas card but there was absolutely no - and I mean NO - reflection of it being 'Vintage' which funnily enough, is the theme this time.  Read on below - if you aren't yawning by now!!

Soooo - after I'd managed to get the image off the original card, I popped it through my Ebosser to flatten it and left it on my desk as I sorted the design for my vintage creation.  It'd started to rain by now so I nipped outside to get the washing in.  Unfortunately during this interlude Donny came running in - chasing Biscuit - not huge fans of rain, Biscuit then ran upstairs to his safe place which of course is on my desk!   I came back upstairs - happy that my washing was OK - only to find one ruddy great paw print on my picture.  We both adore our fur babies and Biscuit is so sweet - apart from his feet which are about the size of dirty great furry elephant trotters, needless to say I gritted my teeth and forgave them both!   However this meant I had to colour another image - at least I'd decided what colours to use - thank goodness.  So now you see why this card has been a real 'tinker' from the start.

I hope you can get your vintage creations made without all the trouble I had!!!  We really look forward to seeing them.  You could win a $10 voucher for digis from the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet .

Ingredients

7" x 7" white card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi image - 'Holly Girl' by Coosty Creations at Stitchy Bears Digi Outlet
Dk red card - stash
Patterned card - 'Twig and Berry' 6.5" pad by Kaiser Craft
Dotty foiled card - 'Turtle Dove' 6.5" pad by Kaiser Craft
Sentiment - 'Twig and Berry' 6.5" pad by Kaiser Craft
Square Layering dies - Tonic Dies
Floral bits - Ancient stash from Create and Craft
Copic markers and one or two Spectrum Noir markers

You might (or might not) have read on my FB page that we started going swimming last week.  There's a session for 50+ peeps on Mondays and Thursdays so I thought that would be a nice and gentle start!  Blimey - they are all soooooooo fit - one lovely lady was getting out and and I asked her if she'd done her bit for the day and she said she'd swum her 24 lengths and at 80 years young that was enough for her.   I managed about 24ft before someone bumped me and that was it - enough to cause me to panic so I did me own sort of soggy aerobics at the shallow end.  Still got me heart rate up a bit - I've not been put off though and will be going again next week.  The two 'Life Guards' told me when it was quieter so we might try one of those times instead!    The maestro did a few lengths so he was happy and we had a real giggle - especially when I got back to the changing cubicle and realised that the 'hygienic plastic bit' was still in my new swimsuit!!!!!  Thought it was a bit crinkly when I was walking to and from the pool!   Ouch!

Oh well that's it for me I'm off to have a nice hot bath now 'cos me bones are aching!

Take care of yourselves and don't forget to pop your vintage creations onto the OSAAT challenge this time.

Hugs to you all and take care.

THROUGH THE PURPLE HAZE - CHALLENGE NO 100 - ADD A NUMBER

Good morning everyone out there - although we are having 'April showers' (lots of the bloomin' things!) we do seem to be getting the sunshine through too.  Went shopping yesterday to McArthurGlen 'Designer' Outlet 'cos the maestro wanted a new jacket for his hols!   Needless to say there is also a Cadbury Factory Shop so I had a little peep and a sniff in the doorway - of course I didn't have any!   Okay okay only some Buttons - it would have been rude not to!!!  In the end - no jacket - however we now have two new purple suitcases, one pair of shoes for the maestro and one superbly gorgeous handbag for moi - and  ... the maestro told me to buy it!!!  How positive is that???

Well - I'm here to post my next card for the Through the Purple Haze challenge DT.  Our theme is to use a number - I wanted to be able to use my card for any birthday so with a little thinking outside me box (coo that hurt!) I used a '2' instead of a 'to' in my sentiment.  I can see a number so it's not cheating!!!

Our sponsor this time is

The image I used is called Shaylee - isn't she a cutie?  I wanted to use pink for my base card but didn't have the 'right' shade so I took a piece of Crafters Companion Centura Pearl card in Fresh Pink and folded it at the 7" mark and the bit left was exactly - yup exactly - the right size for the front of my design.   Naturally I had to cut a strip off the top to make it a 7" square blank.   I haven't used any punches for quite a while now so I found a Martha Stewart border punch for the edge and some Nellie Snellen punches for the flowers and foliage.  Only two actual dies used - am getting withdrawal symptoms already methinks!!

Ingredients

7" x 7" pink base card - 'fashioned' from a sheet of A4 Centura Pearl card
Digi image - 'Shaylee' from Art by Miran
Pierced Rectangle Stax die - Die-Namics Dies
Pierced Circle Stax die - Die-Namics Dies
Edge punch - Martha Stewart Punches
Flowers and Foliage punches - Nellie Snellen Punches
Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Copics
Lace, net, pearls and twine - Brenda's Lace and Ribbon Supplies on FB
Holographic foil for sentiment - Heidi Swapp

In case you wondered - I managed to use my Minc machine again - it's a corker!!

I know the whole team (me included) would love to see your creations entered into our challenge, so why not play along??

Take good care of yourselves and enjoy the weather (providing it's sunny) wherever you are.

Big hugs to you all

CRAFTY CALENDAR - APRIL - ANYTHING GOES!!!

Good morning to you out there in blogland.  I am hoping that you are all feeling quite well and enjoying these little bits of sunshine!  Graham has planted some daffodils in troughs on a ledge just outside the kitchen window and they are growing so big and strong that I can hardly see over them.  He's about a foot taller than me (at 6' 3") so has no problem whatsoever - duh!  Mind you those flowers are really cheering me up no end so I'm not complaining.

Anyway I'm just posting my card for the Crafty Calendar Challenge this month, where our theme is the extremely popular Anything Goes.  We have two fabulous sponsors this month so you've guessed it - that means two prizes!  Corking!!!

I don't make too many green cards but I coloured my little fairy on her toadstool and was drawn towards the citrus green for her dress and then I found the green citrus card to match and just went with it.   The daisy paper is from a huuuuuuge pad of 12" x 12" papers (I've lost the front sheet so don't have a clue who they are by) and they really are gorgeous.

Right on to our sponsors - we have All Dressed Up

and Fabrika Fantasy

Two fantastic prizes - their digi images are wonderful.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi - 'Magical Woodland' from All Dressed Up
12" x 12" daisy papers and green card found in stash
Spellbinders Dies - A2 Matting Basics A die
Spellbinders Dies - A2 Curved Borders One die
Spellbinders Dies - Fancy Framed Tags One die
Joanna Sheen Signature Dies - Mini Leafy Flourish Mirrored Pairs dies
Joanna Sheen Signature Dies - Butterfly Flourish die
Wild Rose Studios - Little Butterfly die
Stickles Stardust Glitter
Gems from my stash
Lace from Brendas Ribbon and Lace Specials
Copics
Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens (on her wings)
Sentiment typed and then Minc'd to within an inch of it's life!!  I love that machine!

We are looking forward to seeing all your creations on the challenge - it's such a great theme and don't forget you don't have to stop at cards.  There are loads of crafts out there so just show us what you can do!

Well I'm off now 'cos it's almost bedtime and I'm absolutely shattered.  Take care all of you and I'll catch you later.  Oooh in case it has crossed your mind - I've scheduled me post to appear at 9.00am on Saturday morning!   I'm doing this Thursday very late evening!

Big hugs and love to you all

Good morning everyone out there - here I am posting my next card for the TTPH challenge and this time we want you to use 'Flowers'!  Now as you can see from 'some' of my previous posts I just adore flowers so this was a very easy one for me to do .. and ..  I was given this absolutely amazingly beautiful digi to use.  Isn't she cute?

Check out the embossing on the side of my card - I found my chalks!!!  I usually use DI's but wanted a very soft look so, after a bit of a hunt around, I found my chalks - on the shelf where I'd stored them - duh!!  There's just a faint smidge on the flowers and a little more around the edge of the silver matted layer.  I made the three central flowers using 'hydrangea' petals from WOC (the stamens were in my stash from years ago).

Ingredients

7" x 7" white card blank - Anna Marie Designs
6" x 6" embossed card front from Craftwork Cards
Digi - Whimsical Rose Sprite from Aurora Wings

Olive Branch die - CC Designs Dies
