OSAAT DT CARD - CHALLENGE NO 186 - USE A DIGI

Good afternoon all you marvellous peeps in blogland!  I mentioned yesterday that I now have 100 followers and today I should really like to welcome Darcy to my blog - thank you so much for becoming follower number 100 - I do hope you pop back often!

Don't forget - watch my blog for some forthcoming CANDY!

For now though I am posting a card I made for the OSAAT DT.  This is Challenge No 186 and to win the prize of every digi used by the DT members in Challenge 184 just make a card using a digi from Stitchy Bears Digi Stamp Outlet (here).   Have you noticed how I am linking everything now that I have found out how to do it - woohoo!  You can still win a prize from the Outlet if you use a digi from another company - so what have you to lose!   My teamies have made some gorgeous cards so whether you enter the challenge or not, try popping over to see their creations.

This digi comes with some papers to download - they are the two smaller pieces on my card and are great for the image.  I used the 'grey' family of Promarkers, together with a little bit of Tan, Cocoa and a pale blue (can't remember which one though - duh!).

CCC - MY CHALLENGE - 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Hello lovely blogsters out there - well  YEEHAAA it has happened!!  I have 100 followers thanks to the lovely Darcy Schroeder (Crafting with Darcy) and I am now going to tell you that I am putting together a smidge of CANDY to celebrate!  Keep your eyes on my blog - Blossom is helping me with this one ... and she is GOOD!   Anyway all will be explained when I have finished collecting the goodies for the CANDY BOX!

Now for my card for the CCC - this time it was my turn to select our Christmas theme, so I chose ... The Twelve Days of Christmas.  I didn't mean all on one card - although if someone has decided to depict all 12 days, that will be wonderful!  I just meant for the girls to depict the day of their choice.

Here is mine - I couldn't get past the first day - lol!  As it usually is with me, I couldn't remember all the days ie how many Lords were leaping, how many swans were swimming etc.   I just popped '12 Days of Christmas' into my search thingy and amongst the thousands of bits of info I found some pics (free of course).  I liked this one because of all those juicy pears! So .....

On the First Day of Christmas my true love gave to me ....... la la la la la la!

A Partridge in a Pear Tree - boom boom!!

Ingredients
7" x 7" White Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi from th'internet
Green Mirror Card - Creata
White dotty embossed card - C&C
Joyful Peace Paper Pad - GCD Studios
Sentiment - LOTV
Promarkers
Flowers/Holly leaves - WOC
Red Berries and leaves - Anna Marie Designs

I thought I would mention that the card (matting layers) which looks black is actually a dark green 'mirror' card from Creata - it really is a lovely colour but just doesn't show up on the pics - apologies to the Maestro because I asked him to do loads of them just to see if we could get the green to show up!  Eeeeeek!

This is another one to add to my collection of Christmas cards and another one I won't have to make the week before Christmas!  Woohoo.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my cards, please take care of yourselves and have a lovely weekend.  It is quite nice here for a change, chilly but at least it isn't raining ........... yet!

Hugs to you all and thanks for any comments you have left me.

CARD FOR AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S DAUGHTER, THE BUDDING BIO-CHEMIST!

Good morrow my blog friends and a hearty welcome to my new follower Nataliya - ooer sorry I have been reading too many novels set in this period!  Seriously though, thanks to all of my followers for your comments and good wishes on my blog.  One more follower and I will have reached 100 - whoopee!  I do feel so lucky, when I started out I never dreamed I would have ANY followers never mind 99!!!  Now Christine, Jenny and Sue J - are you all singing 99 Red Balloons with me - or should I say Neunundneunzig Luftballons!  Oh well 'nuff of that.  Do you remember last month when I was asked to make some cards for an ex-colleague's twins.  I posted the one for the Adam who is studying Mechanical Engineering and here is the one for Jemma who is studying Bio Chemistry.  I found this digi on the internet, it is by JadeDragonne of deviantArt.  She has some lovely artwork on there.  If I am honest, this is actually a young man but ... I put some make-up on his face and cut out another little 'skull' for the necklace to cover up the Adam's apple and he is now a she!  Think I got away with it meself.

Have you noticed the eight legged beastie web - I don't mind those as long as they are uninhabited!  I bought the die but decided against the 'other thing'!

I must admit to choosing my favourite colours for this one, I think they suit the theme though.  Graham hasn't been back to work yet (he does four days a month - lol) so I haven't had any feed back from the twins.  I know their dad liked them, so my fingers are crossed.

Ingredients
8" x 8" Kraft Card Blank
Digi - Mad Scientist by JadeDragonne at deviantArt
Creative Expressions stamp set - Natures Wonders 'blot'
Creative Expressions stamp set - Vintage Label - 'drink stain'
Memory Box - Delicate web die
Memory Box - Flourish die
Memory Box - Phlox die
Die-namics - Notebook Edge die
Paper - First Edition Dreamcatcher
DCWV Latte Stack
Promarkers
Glossy Accents

Before I wander off into the ether again I have a picture to show you of how I am struggling working with Blossom on the desk - sorry if it isn't up to the standard of the maestro but I took it on my phone and then passed it over!!!  That's as technical as I get!  She also likes to lie under the daylight lamp - hence the very bright light!  Don't tell me to switch it off 'cos I've tried and she just sits up  blocking the screen and stares at it until I do the necessary.

If you check out the laptop, you can see that I am trying to comment on Christine's blog!
I have to type like this all the time, trying to resist that gorgeous chin!  She's always stretching out her left paw as well so I have to do a 'high five' with her.  Yes I am potty - it is lovely on Planet Susie!

Well that's enough from me for now, thank you for stopping by and for putting up with my usual warbles.  I always enjoy your comments so if you have the time to leave one I do appreciate it.

Take care all of you and I'll see you again soon.

Hugs  SUE  xxx

CCC - MAUREEN'S (AKA SCRAPPYMO) CHALLENGE - UPCYCLE AN ITEM ONTO A CARD

Good afternoon you lovely bloggers out there, I hope your weekend has started well - special love to Sue J and her hubster Paul - hope you are fully charged, energy wise, very  soon!

Must just tell you about my horrific experience on Thursday night, I usually go to bed to read while hubster watches the late news.  I do find that reading helps me to sleep because it seems to wind me down just that little bit.  Anyway I always do a cursory check in the bathroom and the bedroom for 'things'!  Well, the bathroom was clear - phew! - but I sensed that the bedroom might not be!!!!   I switched the light on and there it was - the biggest ruddy eight legged beastie I have ever seen - I could have fitted a saddle on it and it wouldn't have looked out of place!  Needless to say I screamed and, fortunately, the hubster came running - bless him!  We keep a large yoghurt pot in the bathroom (just for these 'problems') and he caught it and popped it out of the window - he told me it's legs were hanging over the edge of the pot!!   The thing is I still keep seeing it and am wondering where the rest of his family are - yuk!

This is a card for the CCC - Scrappymo (Maureen our lovely friend in Canada) has given us the theme of 'upcycling an item onto our Christmas card'.  I usually save some of my Christmas cards - as well as all hand made cards - if there is a particular picture that I like.  This is one from two years ago, I just loved this little Santa popping down the chimney, so I cut it out to use at a later date!!!

I used  mainly gold and red on a kraft card base and added my new favourite die by Joanna Sheen from her Signature range, this one is the Ivy Flourish and is a brilliant size, so useful to add a swirl with a difference!

Ingredients
7" x 7"  Kraft Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Upcycled topper from an old Christmas card
Pink Paislee Papers - City Sidewalk
DCWV Papers - Christmas Wishes
Joanna Sheen Signature - Ivy Flourish Die
Spellbinders - Labels 33 Die
Daisy and Dandelion - Christmas Wishes clear stamp
Ribbon/bobbles/red and gold card from stash

I have quite a pile of Christmas cards ready now, and I am so pleased with myself and grateful to the CCC for giving me the incentive to make these cards throughout the year (as opposed to the last minute mad dash I usually have).

I hope you like it, thank you for any comments you have left, I love reading them so much.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I am now going blog visiting - see you soon!

Big hugs to you all

HUBBY'S BIRTHDAY CARD - 21 PLUS 45 YEAR'S EXPERIENCE!!!

Hello lovely blogsters out there - well yesterday was the maestro's birthday and I bought this stamp set way back in March/April time - for once I was prepared!!!   As some of you will realise this looks very like him (hair wise or lack of I mean) although he does have a few 'wisps' on top, but no 'comb-over!!  We also have a couple of reclining chairs and he has one or four remotes!  I would have cut the bag of crisps out and replaced it with an F1 magazine cover but couldn't find one!  Shame - but, having said that, he would never fall asleep during an F1 race!!!

I was really pleased yesterday 'cos there he was in his red T shirt and blue trackies.  Great minds and all that ..........

This is a little verse from Jon Bratton's site Verses4Cards - he has some lovely free little verses for us to use.  I've put a link to his site HERE.  There are funny ones, serious ones - in fact something for every occasion, nip over for a gander.  I typed out the verse and the font is one of those that looks slightly distressed and smudgy - lol.
In case you are wondering, this did make him laugh!  He knows I don't meeean it!!!  By the way have you spotted the deliberate mistake???  I have forgotten to put Happy Birthday on the front - I am such a plonker!  I did confess to the maestro and he said "It doesn't matter because I know what it's for!"  Bless him.

I lurve these papers and thought they would look good on a male card.  The zig-zag one is by Sheena Douglass from her 'A Little Bit Oriental' paper pad.  The dotty paper is from Graphic 45 'Le Cirque Collection' - I am very very fussy where I use my G45 papers so you see he is definitely 'speshul' LOL!!

Ingredients
7" x 7"  Kraft Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Sheena Douglass - A Little Bit Oriental Paper Pad
Graphic 45 - Le Cirque Collection
Art Impressions Rubber Stamp - Lazy Boy Set
Spellbinders - Wonky Squares Die
Die-Namics - Fishtail Flags Stax Layers Die
Copics/Promarkers
Antique Linen Distress Ink

I didn't have a present for him yesterday but he says he needs a new 'puter so I will be giving him some money for that - when he decides which one he wants!!!    Mind you - I did leave a little present for him upstairs - just before I went to bed I found an 8 legged beasty in the bath so I left it for him to remove - rapidly!!!!!

BLOSSOM NEWS

Blossom had her first visit to the V-E-T on Monday - bless her she was really good.  She had a multi-injection and a general health check , she has to go back in three weeks for the second injection and will go for her operation (spaying) afterwards.  She has had a lot of male attention, I do know of one cat Donny, who has had carnal knowledge (dirty little beggar) but, fortunately, no offspring.   I am a little mystified but the vet said he wouldn't know if she was 'in tact' until they checked her out.   Whilst she is under the anaesthetic she will be chipped (thought I would save her this pain for the time being).  I put some anti-flea juice on her neck as soon as she was allowed in the house and the vet has given me some more, which has a wormer in it, to put on in two to three weeks' time.  She is costing a bomb - oh don't think I've mentioned where she stretched herself up the wallpaper on the landing and left some lurvely scratch marks under the dado rail!  Fortunately we had one short piece of paper left and the maestro has managed to replace the scratched bit!

Thank you for popping over to my site and for checking out my blog wafflings.  I hope you like my humorous card for my bloomin' lubbly hubbly!  I have  made a couple of cards but still haven't posted all of them just yet.  I've slapped my wrist and will get 'a round tuit' just as soon as I can.

I do hope you are all keeping well and are coping with the weather, it was absolutely puthering down this morning and Blossom is on her usual cushion on my desk!  She does distract me 'cos I keep stroking her and playing with her paws, ears and chin.  This is helping with her feisty attitude so I don't feel as if I am time-wasting, I am in-house training!   That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Before I go orf on my Blossom Fest again I am off - lots of love and hugs to all my friends and fellow blogsters out there.
