OSAAT DT CARD - CHALLENGE NO 174 - ANYTHING GOES.

Hello peeps and buddies everywhere!!  How amazing is blogging, I have friends all over the world and I feel that I know so many of you even though it is only 'virtually'.  And.....  I am really enjoying myself - lol!!!

Anyway I had better get down to my next card before I really go orf on a waffle (well I am on Planet Susie!!).  It's very vague and airy fairy on my planet, and trivia of any sort is welcome, we just don't want anything too serious here!  We can do serious later.

For my DT card at OSAAT - Challenge no 174, I was given a gorgeous digi from Floppy Latte to use and I printed it out on some turquoise card that has a shaded effect, going from dark to light.  This shows up a lot better in real life but it is a gorgeous card to print on.

I printed the second one onto Neenah card and coloured the flowers then fussy cut them out - boy were they bloomin' fussy - and deeeecoupaged (sorry I just cannot resist) them onto the frame.  I cut the centre out of the card so that I could pop the sentiment underneath.  The frame and sentiment are then matted onto a piece of turquoise card and then centred on one of my favourite papers!!  My snippets card was made using the little bit that was left over - lol!!

Ingredients

8" x 8" card blank
Digi Image - Simple Framed Flowers - Floppy Latte
Digi Sentiment - Ginger's House
Papers from stash - cannot remember where from!!
Rainbow Drops - Crafty Notions
Copic Markers
Versamark Chalk Inks - Aquatic Splash, Ocean Depth

After I had printed the sentiment I did my new 'thing' of using my special £1 holey sponge and 'pounced' some of the Versamark Chalk inks over the top.

I do hope you check out the One Stitch at a Time Blog (OSAAT)http://onestitchatatimechallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/please-read-our-rules-1-can-enter-with.html to see what my teamies have made.  The challenge this week is Anything Goes, so I would really like to see some of your creations on there.  If you use a Stitchy Bear image you could win ALL the stamps we had to use in Challenge no 172 - that's about $20 worth.  You could still win digis to the value of $3 if you use a stamp from another company.   Well worth the effort ladies!

Thank you for stopping by - the birthday card will be on it's way shortly - please leave me a comment, if you have time, even my hubby loves reading them!  Bless him.

Big hugs to you all out there!

CCC - KAREN'S CHALLENGE - USE A TEABAG FOLD OR ORIGAMI FOLD.

Hello ladies, I hope you have enjoyed your weekend and have been crafting - either a lot or a little lol!!!  I have just finished the quickest card I have ever made!!   One of me many senior moments had me thinking that the Christmas Card Club Challenge (to make a card incorporating either a teabag fold or an origami fold) commenced on 1 August - duh!!  it starts today so, following a teeny weeny (no that's a lie) following a huuuuge panic, I realised that not only did I have to make a very quick card but I also hadn't a clue as to how to do either a teabag fold or an origami fold!  Well thanks to that wonderful invention th'internet I found a tutorial for an easy 5 point origami star.  I must admit that I really have to thank the lovely Karen for setting the challenge, because I have now tried a new technique and although this is not a difficult thing to make, I was pleased with the result and I might try something more difficult next time!!!

Here is my CCC challenge card -

I have added my five point star to my card with the backside - ooops reverse side showing because I wanted to have a sort of 'dish' effect where I could add my Christmas topper.  I realise I should have asked the maestro to take a pic of my star before I glued it to my card and added the Christmas foliage!  Mind you it has been one of those days - lol!!  I am adding the link to the blog where I found the instructions.  http://www.origami-instructions.com/easy-modular-5-pointed-star.html.

Ingredients
6" x 6" square card
Papers are from my stash (several years old!)
Spellbinders Die D'lites - Flourish Trim
Pearls from stash (freebie with magazine)
Floral embellishment - Create and Craft

Thank you all so much for checking out my blog and I hope you like my Christmas card.  I have a birthday card to post in the next day or two so I'll be back!!!

Hugs to you all

A SNIPPET FOR PIXIES CRAFTY PLAYGROUND WEEK NO 82 - YAY!!!

Good afternoon all my blogging friends and a huge hello to my new followers, Lorraine and Bunny.  I have nearly reached 100 followers, suprising to me because I have only just been blogging for one year.  I am so pleased that you are popping by to see what I have made or to see what faux pas I have managed to come up with.  You know the ones I mean - butterfly aerials etc.

Anyway enough of my warblings (eh Jenny!!) here is a card (the first card I would add) that I have made for Pixies Crafty Snippets Playground Challenge.  I have the biggest tub of snippets and have been 'threatening' for months to make a card.   Did I hear those gates clang shut Di - and did the goat stop mid-trampolining!

I had a little piece of card left over from a sheet after I had cut out an 8"x8" card so I used some of this for my card base.  I had a snippet of card left over from one of my DT cards and a snippet of glitter card - well you get my drift by now, they are ALL snippets - lol.

I did a technique the other day with a sponge I bought from the Pound Shop - the sort that has the big holes in it.  I chopped it into loads of pieces and I used one to 'pounce' some Chalk ink over the masked off centre of the card.  The rest of the card is matted and layered as you can see, so I won't bore you with all of those warblings.

I asked hubster to take a side view pic so you could see how it opened.  I only decorate the inside of my cards if they are for special occasions or commissions, mainly though it is because I am possibly toooooo tight.

This is a very very simple card for me, and took me half an hour to make - which is also a miracle!  In case you were wondering, it measures 6.5" x 5.25".

I hope you like it , this is my favourite paper of all time, and I can't remember where I got it from - mind you I have some more in different colours, so I am still laughing!   Well, I am now off to enter my card into the above mentioned challenge!

Big hugs to you all out there, hope you are having a good weekend and that you are happy with the weather - I am because it is much cooler here!!!

WALTZING ..... WITH MY KNEES - AS IF!!!! MIDWAY DT CARD FOR LADY ANNE'S STAMP CHALLENGE NO 10

Hello there my blog friendlies and how are you on this bright and breezy morning (I haven't a clue what it is like really 'cos I 'scheduled' this post and therefore I am still in me pit with me eyes closed!!!)   However, this is a card for Lady Anne's Stamp Challenge No 10.  We were asked to make two DT cards this month because there are two sponsors and this one is for a mid-challenge reminder, as such.

I love this image by Rick St Dennis and was so chuffed to be able to colour it in for this DT card.  Think I might have gone a tad over-bling n feathery but I felt it was needed to go with the main colours of purple, pink and black!

I did the mask in both black and mirri then put the mirri behind the black, slightly off centre, so that you can see the shine underneath.  I added several purple gems to the mask and the Venetian dies for bling.  My feathers were my last little addition.

 Ingredients

8" x 8" square card
Digi Image - Waltz by Rick St Dennis
First Edition Papers - Dreamcatcher
Purple card and Mirri from my stash
Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Circle die
Spellbinders Curved Rectangles
Spellbinders Venetian Motifs and Accents Dies
Memory Box Kaleidoscope Butterfly
Copics
WOC flowers
Feathers, gems and Stardust Stickles

I hope you like my card and if you can leave a comment I will be well chuffed.

I visited a few blogs yesterday and there are so many beautiful creations - I think this weather must be helping you all with your mojos!

Huge big hugs to you all out there and I do hope you are enjoying the sunshine, but if not, I trust you are managing to keep cool!

PLANET SUSIE'S STARSHIP - DT CARD FOR "ONE STITCH AT A TIME"

Hi there fellow bloggers - welcome to my little planet!!  Thank you so much for stopping by and checking me out - so to speak!!!

I have a couple of cards ready to show this week because they are DT cards.  This card is my first as a DT member for One Stitch at a Time and, if you think about it, it certainly typifies me as Planet Susie!!! Please check out the Challenge site and also the cards made by my teamies - they are bloomin' creative.

This challenge (No 172) has a theme "Use a Digi" and if you use an image from StitchyBear Digi Outlet via the blog  (http://onestitchatatimechallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/challenge-172.html) - the prize is $20 worth of digi images.  You can still win $3 worth of images if you use a digi from another company.  Don't forget these are weekly challenges.

The starship is the main image and there were some lovely background papers to choose from but I loved the look of planet earth!

You know how much I love my floral bits and I sooo wanted to have some space flowers on here so I used some stars and some snowflake dies plus some great foliage dies to make up these wacky flowers.    I do have a friend who loves anything Startrek so this would suit her down to the ground!!!  I would add a birthday sentiment to this one if I decide to send it to her though - lol!

I cut out the starship and then mounted it onto my background using a little spring that I made from some jewellery wire.  It really does bounce around on the front of my card! Yay.

I used purples, blues, greys and silver on this card - mainly because I wanted to have some nice little relatives posing on the front - bless - and they needed to blend into my background - ooops now I'm chuckling at myself 'cos I've gorn orf on one.

 Ingredients

8" x 8" square card
Digi Image/Background Papers - Coosty Creations at StitchyBear Digi Outlet
Other digi images from Bing colouring pages
Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Circle die
Spellbinders Shapeabilities Gold Corner Set One
Sentiment from Ginger's House Blog

I hope you like my unusual card, I must admit I enjoyed making this one 'cos it tweaked me brain!  Give a little wave to my relations on the front won't you!

Thank you for any comments you may leave, can I ask again that you visit the One Stitch at a Time Challenge to have a look - and please enter the challenge!!!  Also I would love you to check out my teamies' blogs with their DT cards.  They are so lovely.

Loads of big hugs to you 'cos I have been waffling just a tad - please keep well and if you are feeling under the weather, I hope you get better soon.

Hello blog friends and followers - welcome to my new follower Mandy, thank you for joining my blog and I hope you enjoy my warblings and my cards.

I have my second card for the CCC today, this challenge is to make a Christmas card using pastel colours and to incorporate a circle in the design.  I made my first ever pastel coloured Christmas card last year - yay - and must admit I am a convert.

The image I used is in the shape of a Christmas wreath so this set me off on my circle design.

Ingredients

8" x 8"  blank card
First Edition - Christmas Joy card

Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Small Scallop
Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Fancy Circle

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, if you can, please leave me a comment or three.  I love reading the banter on here, I would say that cardmaking keeps me sane, but we all know that isn't true don't we girls!!!

LADY ANNE'S STAMP CHALLENGE NO 10 : BLUE (BUT NOT SAD) BUTTERFLIES

Hi there fellow blogsters, I do hope you are enjoying the warm weather - must admit I can't get used to seeing the yellow blob in the sky more than once in a week!  lol.

I have a second slightly late card to show you today and this is one I made for my other DT spot at Lady Anne's Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.  This image is by Floppy Latte - isn't that a great name????

I've never coloured a butterfly before so I thought I would keep it simple and use just three blue Copics.  I coloured two images and then fussy cut the second butterfly  to pop on the top of the card.  I was telling Graham how I was cutting it out and that it's aerials were really thin so I was being extra careful.  He looked at me in that special way they have - you know the one they all get when they think "What on earth is she on about?"  Anyway I just pointed the aerials out - it was then he said "Do you mean antennae?"   Ooops, mind you I did think it sounded a bit weird - but only a bit.  That was it then, it just set me off laughing - anyway an hour later I managed to stick the butterfly and it's aerials antennae to the card.

We have two sponsors for this month's Challenge - Floppy Latte and Rick St. Dennis.  The challenge runs until the beginning of August so do have a go because, as it is Stamp Anything Goes, the world is your lobster!!

Ingredients

8.25" x 5.75"  blank card
Papers from Create and Craft
Main image from "Floppy Latte's Digital Designs"
Spellbinders Gold Labels Four
Flowers and Leaves from WOC
Flowery beads (pearls and crystals)  on wire from stash
Copics and Promarkers

The lacy bit on the bottom of the card is part of the piece of paper!  I quite liked the look it gave and carefully cut it out from the piece of A4 - there were some flowers at the end so I chopped these orf!!!

I do hope you like my card and take part in this Challenge.  Thank you for leaving me any comments.  I know there are holidays and things to be taken at this time of year - ooooh I've just nipped back to Majorca for a second or three - so any time spent looking at my blog is especially appreciated.

Big hugs to you

LADY ANNE'S CHALLENGE 4 - THEME IS MONOCHROME.

Hello there my most favourite blogsters, welcome to my Planet!  I have an extra special welcome to my new followers - I reached 90 - yes 90 followers this weekend.  I am so totally chuffed that you think I am worth following, especially when you know I am totally barking.  I will do another Candy prize when I reach 100 followers.

This card is being posted a tad late (as is the next one I will be posting - oooops!).  This is purely because I was a little poorly (AGAIN) last week - I had to sit upright in bed to sleep, now that would have frightened any burglar!  Coo I am sick of being so young!  As if!!!!!!  Hate to think what I'll be like in me dotage!  lol.

The theme on Lady Anne's Challenge No 4 this month is Monochrome and we have been sponsored by 'Fred She Said Images' the prize being offered is a $10 gift voucher for their shop.  They have great images to choose from.  I chose this lovely little digi called "Smelling the Cherry Blossoms" and thought that I would colour her in various shades of brown.  This challenge runs through until 5 August, and I do hope you have the time to enter.

Ingredients

7.5" x 7.5" square blank card
Papers from a huuuuge pad of 12x12" with no cover!!
Main image from "Fred She Said Store"
Spellbinders Circle Die

Flowers and Leaves from WOC
Border is a Punch from Martha Stewart

CCC - LORRAINE'S CHALLENGE "A CHRISTMAS SCENE"

Hello peeps out there - I am posting my card for the Christmas Card Club today, Lorraine chose this theme but can't post herself 'cos she is under the weather at the moment - I'm sending a virtual hug your way!   Isn't it a lovely theme - it is open to so many interpretations, which I just lurve.

This post is a tad full of piccies because I wanted you to see it from all sides. I first saw a TeePee card on my friend Suzie's blog and squirrelled the idea away at the back of my mind.  It is really 1.5 square cards glued together in a particular way.  Mine is 6" square and I think the following pics will be self-explanatory.  Oh and because there are soooo many pics, I have postponed the pics of me 'n' the hubster in Cornwall.  You will have to wait patiently Jenny and Sue J.

This is the 'front' of my card with the main Christmas Scene image on it.

The other two sides -

At a slightly different angle -

The next two pics show the card in it's flat state!  I used a small Velcro fastener to close the card, there are many different ways of making a fastener but there is so much heavy paper on this one, I wanted to make sure it stayed put!

You can't see the amount of glitter on the snowy plantpots or on the snowflakes but, believe me, I went a little bit berserk with my Star Dust.

This is the inside of the card

Ingredients

2.5  x 6" square blank cards
MME Signature Christmas heavyweight paper
Image from La Pashe - The Best of Just Inklined CD
First Edition Christmas Village heavyweight paper
Spellbinders Circle Die
Spellbinders Small Scalloped Circle (Large)
Spellbinders Fanciful Holiday
Spellbinders Snowflake Pendant 2012
Spellbinders Holiday Tree 2012
Spellbinders Create a Flake Four
Marianne Creatables Poinsettia
Memory Box Snowflake Ornament
Memory Box Floral Vine
Memory Box Snowflake Tree
IO Dies Snowflake
and a Cuddly Toy!!!

I love all of the above dies but never thought I would use so many on one card!  I do hope you like this one and have the time to leave a comment or two or even three.  Thank you for visiting my blog, I intend to catch up with your blogs very shortly.

Hugs to you all out there in blogland.
