CRAFTY CALENDAR CHALLENGE - SEPTEMBER - KIDS AND BABIES

Good afternoon peeps - hope you are all feeling well and are enjoying the 'odd/few' hours of sunshine that we keep having!!!   Well I'm here to post my DT card for the Crafty Calendar Challenge this month.  I made this card a couple of months ago for a (swimming) friend who has just become a grandma!  When I saw our theme was 'Kids/Babies' I wanted to post this one as I was really pleased with it and I hadn't posted it before so here it is!

The lady I made this for is a really good friend to me and is always offering her support when we go swimming.  With her encouragement I've built up my 'lengths' from 10 - back in 2016 - to 70 which I did last Friday - 64 lengths equals a mile!!  Anyway she loved this 'cos she didn't expect it!!

Ingredients

7" x 7" White Pearl Card Blank - Anna Marie Designs
Digi Image - LOTV 'Heaven Sent'
Papers - LOTV 'Shabby Shack' 8" x 8" pad
'Stitched Cloud' die - Memory Box Dies 30053
Scalloped Round Frame die/Train die - Unbranded dies
Sentiment - Typed then 'Minc'd' on my foiling machine
Copic markers
Pearls - stash

I hope you can enter our challenge this month (here), there's a voucher for our winner from Wild Orchid Crafts - super!!!

Don't forget to check out the work of my teamies - they've popped some gorgeous work on the blog for you to look at.

Anyway must be off now - crafting to do, places to go, stash to buy!!!

Take care and lots of love to you all, especially those of you who are going through a bad time at the moment - I'm sending you big hugs of course.

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND - AUGUST - USE THE COLOUR YELLOW

Hi there - today I'm posting the mid-month reminder for the CCAYR challenge where our theme is 'Use Yellow'.  I must admit that I struggled with this one at first and then I found an LOTV Art Pad in my 'stash' and there's quite a bit of yellow in this image - thankfully!  After that it was easy - I suppose I'd never thought of the yellow glow from a light coming through a window - duh!

I used quite a lot of gold sparkly bits on here too, just to bring out the yellow light from the window and the surrounding bricks.  Naturally this looks much more 'yellowy' irl!!!  Typical!

Ingredients

6" x 6" white card blank - stash
Image - LOTV Art Pad 18 'Winter Wonderland'
First Edition Paper - 'Christmas Village' 8" x 8"
DCWV - 'Glitzy Pastels' stack 6" x 6"
Christmas sentiments - LOTV Christmas Label clear stamps
Crafts-Too Dies - Oval Stitch hole die
Creative Expressions Dies - Festive Collection 'Holly Accessory kit' dies
Stardust Stickles glue
Gems, Gold Glitzy tape, white tassel, snowflake dies - all unbranded

The prize this month is ...

We'd love to see your Christmas creations - using yellow - of course!  You can enter our challenge here.  While you're there why not check out the beautiful creative work of the two Teams.

Anyway must be off to do a little bit of ironing, it's swimming tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it - I actually managed 50 lengths last Friday and 44 on Wednesday - wish they'd do an Olympics for OAPs, I'd enter!!   I'm kidding of course 'cos I would probably be giggling far too much to be able to swim!

Lots of big hugs to you all and take loads of care.

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 14 - BOXES AND BAGS

Good afternoon everyone - hope you are having a good weekend - bit wet for August here though!!  Anyway - this fortnight over at International Art and Soul our theme is 'Boxes and Bags', so I decided to make a hexagonal gift box.

I asked the maestro to take a few pics showing different 'views' for you to check it out.

Ingredients

A3 Centura Pearl card - Crafters Companion
Hexagon Box die - Tattered Lace Dies
Hexagon Nesting Layers die - Tattered Lace Dies
Honeycomb Lattice die - Tattered Lace Dies
Flowers, leaf, tag dies - Unbranded
Penny Black Clear Stamps - 'Happy Snippets' sentiment stamp
Stamen punch - www.L-Em.com
Pearls - stash

Perhaps I should leave this lying around to see if the maestro can fill it with a nice little gift - sorry that was a daydream I was having!  LOL.  Bless him, he's always treating me so I'm not complaining at all.

We really would love to see your crafty bags or boxes so why not have a go and enter our challenge (here).  While you're at it, we'd love you to become a follower - that would be amazing.

Nip over to the blog to check out my teamies' creations - they are so talented and inspirational.

Big hugs to you all.

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 13 - USE DIE CUTS

Afternoon fellow bloggers and friends.  This time the challenge at IntAAS is to use die cuts on your creations.   Some of you will know that, after colouring, using die cuts (and collecting dies) is my favourite thing of all time.  This is a card I made for my hubby (aka the maestro) for our Sapphire Wedding Anniversary (45 years - phew).

I love this satin mirri card under the die cuts - perfect sapphire colour.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Spellbinders Dies - Gold Elements One die
Spellbinders Dies - Lace Hearts and corner dies
Blue Satin Mirri Card - stash
WOC - flowers
Stardust Stickles

I like this card - mainly because of that beautiful blue - and enjoyed making it.  We do hope you can join in this fortnight because I know the majority of you will use at least one die cut on your creations.  You can join in our challenge here at IntAAS and although we are Just For Fun, we do have really great badges for the winner and Top 3.

Anyway must go 'cos I have a nice glass of Merlot waiting for me - yum.

Big hugs to you all and thanks so much for taking a gander at me card.

Hello everyone out there in blogland.  Just come back from swimming (second time this week - woo hoo) and I managed 40 lengths - not bad considering I've been out of action for 6 weeks!!!    Anyway now that I'm feeling so chuffed with myself, I ought to post my reminder card for the CCAYR challenge this month.   I decided to use this lovely robin image that I've either bought or won (sorry I can't remember which and the ref number doesn't give me a clue as to where it's from - if anyone knows please tell me!).

Ingredients

7" x 7" white card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Image - Robin on Fence Post (sorry I don't know who designed this)
Dovecraft - 'Glad Tidings' 8" x 8" paper pad
Die-namics Dies - Wonky Stitched Rectangle die
Sweet Dixi Dies - Holly and Star corner die
Joanna Sheen Signature Dies - Mini Ivy (mirrored pairs) flourish dies
Crafters' Companion - 'Festive Wonder' clear stamp set

We'd love you to join in - definitely well worth taking part for the chance to win this great prize (pictured below).

I hope you can enter our CCAYR challenge this month, 'cos I'm such a cheerful little soul I really ought to remind you that there's only 5 months to Christmas!

Anyway those 40 lengths seem to have take their toll and I can feel me eyelids closing as I'm typing so I'm orf for a lie down - me 'n' Biscuit love a cat nap or four!

Lots of hugs to you all and please take care.
