INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 8 - HOT COLOURS

Good afternoon peeps - here's my card for the IntAAS fortnightly JFF challenge.  Our theme is Hot Colours and I found some gorgeous hot pink card in my stash so I just had to use it!

I love this Sassy Cheryl image and I've probably used it before but it is such a cute image and so nice to colour.    There are two ladybirds in the picture so I thought I would use my ladybird die on here.  It's one of those dies that just begs to have a bit of shaping to it (on the underneath so that it doesn't lie flat).  I made the bugs out of the same hot pink card, 'cos I could!

Ingredients

Image - 'Avery's Big Flower' - Sassy Cheryl
7" x 7" white card - Anna Marie Designs
Hot Pink Card - DCWV 'Christmas Card Stock' stack
Floral Paper - Tonic Studios 'Simply Nature' 8" x 8" paper pad
Ladybird die - Elizabeth Designs Dies
Flower/leaf border die - Unbranded dies
Double Stitched Frame die - Unbranded dies
Leaf die - Unbranded dies
Copic Markers
Gems (absolutely gorgeous irl) - unbranded

I hope you can join  us in this challenge - we are getting closer to summer (sorry, you'll have to forgive my sense of humour) so how about some nice hot colours.  We'd love to see all your creations.   You know we are now a 'just for fun' challenge but we do have lovely badges (designed by our Jane) for you when you win!!!

Take care of yourselves - must go now 'cos the doorbell is trumpeting - Biscuit has his own infra-red doorbell and when he stands at the back door there's the sound of an elephant trumpeting in the dining room telling us he wants to come back in.   Will tell you about it next time - in the meantime just let your imaginations run riot!!

Take care of yourselves and your families.

CRAFTY CALENDAR CHALLENGE - MAY - FLOWERS

Good morning to you all - today I am posting my card for the Crafty Calendar Challenge which, for this month, is Flowers!!!  Must admit I'm a bit of a 'divil' for me flowers and I put them on most cards I make - although yesterday's card only had a 'flower' gem on it!!!

Ingredients

Image - 'Flower Power Girl' - Lemon Shortbread
7" x 7" Pearl finish card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Flowery paper - Kanban (old stash)
'Trellis' Square Base die set - Tonic Studios Dies

This month we have been sponsored by All Dressed Up and the prize for the winner is two images of your choice.

AND ..................

Lemon Shortbread where the prize is also two images of your choice - soooo two sponsors = two winners!!!

I don't think there any many crafters out there who don't like a flower or two, so come on and let the team see all of your creations.  Don't forget you can make anything for your project - it doesn't have to be a card or papercraft come to that, as long as flowers are involved.

Hope you are all well and taking care of yourselves.

Big hugs to you -

Love Suexxx

CRAFTS GALORE ENCORE - MAY - ALWAYS ANYTHING GOES

Good afternoon everyone out there in blog-land,  this post is late I'm afraid 'cos I have a lot on (again) and not only that but this is my last card for Crafts Galore Encore so I thought I'd better sort it ... right now!

The theme, as usual, is 'Anything Goes'  which is always much easier to go with.

There are two sponsors this month and I had the opportunity of an image from Ppinkydolls - she's called 'Flower Bee'  and as I love anything to do with Bumble Bees I had to choose this one!

There will be a prize of 3 digi stamps from Star Stampz chosen at random (winner's choice) and 3 digi stamps from PPinkydolls for a winner chosen on merit (winner to choose their stamps)

Ingredients

Image - 'Flower Bee' - Ppinkydolls
7" x 7" White Card blank - Anna Marie Designs
LOTV Nitwit Collection - 8" x 8" 'One Birdie Lane' paper pad

Take care of yourselves and keep crafting when you can.

Hugs to you all.

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND - APRIL - CHRISTMAS FLOWERS

Morning everyone - I'm just posting my mid-month reminder card for the CCAYR Challenge.  I always love using poinsettias on my Christmas cards so when I saw that our challenge was for Christmas flowers I was tempted to use them again but ...... I had a die that I was waiting to use and, even though it was an Anemone, I thought I could make it into a Christmas Rose (aka Helleborus) instead.

The flower dies are from Elizabeth Craft Dies and I think they are all gorgeous.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Image - 'Presents and Christmas Roses' - Colouring Pages
Die'sire Embossing Folder - 'Holiday Holly'
Creative Dies - Nesting Circles die
Elizabeth Craft Dies - 'Anemone' flower die from 'Susan's Garden'
Sweet Dixie Dies - 'Bells and Holly' die
Spellbinders 'Poppy' die - Small Leaf die
Die-namics Dies - 'Stitched Fishtail Flag' die
Unbranded Dies - Large 'bobble' fern die
Copics
Stardust Stickles
Martha Stewart Flock (on the stamens)
Sentiment typed and then 'Minc'd' with gold foil on my machine

I do hope it's not too early for you to start your Christmas cards - what am I talking about - it's NEVER too early!  Let's see your creations over on the CCAYR blog - just check out the projects from my teamies.

The prize for this month's winner is

Don't forget there are badges for the Winner and Top 3 as well.

Am planning to do some colouring this afternoon - whether I get a 'Round Tuit' is another matter, you see we are popping into town this morning and that means we will HAVE to go into John Lewis for a coffee and bun and this afternoon I'll probably nod orf!!  Love a little nap in the afternoon after a wander around town.

Anyway must go - catch you later - take care!

Big hugs to you all.

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 6 - THINGS WITH WINGS

Good afternoon to all of you - just posting my card for the IntAAS Challenge this fortnight where our theme is 'Things with Wings'.  I've cheated a bit (for me that is, because I love colouring) and used a pre-coloured image.    I bought some of these LOTV Art Pads to make a few quick cards but I love them and have used them for not so quick cards!

Ingredients

White 7" x 7" card blank - Anna Marie Designs
LOTV pre-coloured image 'Magical Fairies' - Art Pad Set 25
LOTV Nit-Wit Collection - 'Pastel Dreams' paper pad
American Traditional Designs - Textured Cardstock 8" x 8" paper pad
Tonic Dies - Rectangle Layering dies
Butterfly die - Unbranded Die
Floral Strip die - Unbranded Die
Wink of Stella Clear Pen

I kept this one quite simple (for me) but added a few tweaks to the image with a Wink of Stella pen - namely on the flower petals, butterfly wings and fairy wings plus a smidge of white pen on the leaves of the flower.  The glittery bits don't show up too well on the pic but irl they stand out really great.

We'd love to see your creations in our JFF challenge, why not pop over to the IntAAS blog and have a look at what my teamies have made.   We have great badges for our Winner and Top 3.

Anyway must be orf - have an Easter Egg to tackle mmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Big hugs to you all, take care.

Love  Suexxx

CRAFTY CALENDAR CHALLENGE - APRIL - APRIL SHOWERS/SPRING

Hi there peeps, here I am with my next DT card for Crafty Calendar.  This month our theme is April Showers or Spring.  My mind did a bit of a left turn when I was going to do a right turn and I ended up with a pair of love(ly) owls on a branch with an umbrella - I was definitely up on Planet Susie when I thought of this methinks!  Do love the image though, it's from one of our sponsors this month, Sheepski Designs.

It's a great image (see below) and I was going to colour it but decided to do something different and did some paper-piecing instead just to make the owls into little fun characters.  I do think they look sweet with their googly eyes.  I've popped my watermark over the top of this image by Andrea to protect it.

Ingredients

Image - 'Oliver and Olivia' from Sheepski Designs
7" x 7" White Card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Papers - Sizzix Little Sizzles 'Earth Tones' paper pad
Crafters' Companion - Wood Grain 8" x 8" Embossing Folder
Memory Box Dies - Pinpoint Scalloped Circles die
Die-namics Dies - Stitched Fishtail Flag die
Umbrella die - Unbranded die from Ebay
Flower and Leaf dies - AliExpress Unbranded die
Doily - Dovecrafts 'Glad Tidings' set
Copics (for edging the card and for tufty ears and beaks on the owls)
Googly eyes - stash

We have two sponsors this month and they are offering the following prizes

Miss Daisy Stamps

Jennifer Nilsson Art  ♥︎  Mari Digis  ♥︎  Miss Daisy’s Collection

Join us at Miss Daisy Stamps Create & Share Facebook Group to meet the artists,
share fun & inspiration, receive freebies and special deals. See you there!

Prize is 3 images of your choice one from each of the above artists.

Sheepski Designs - Artist/owner Andrea Morris

Prize is 3 images of your choice.

I hope you can enter our challenge - it runs for the whole of April so there's plenty of time - and that's from a crafter who has a Degree in Procrastination (allegedly)!  😁

Sorry this is such a short post (scheduled from yesterday) but I am just off to do some much needed ironing - and we all know how much I adore that job.  Would have started it earlier but the electricity had to be turned off (for flippin' ages) while we had some work carried out.  Oh well it's done now thank goodness.

Catch you all again very soon, thanks for stopping by and checking out my card, can't wait to see you over at the Crafty Calendar Challenge.

Take care and lots of big hugs to you all.

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 5 - DISTRESSING

Good afternoon fellow bloggers out there, hope your weekend is going well and you are enjoying a little sunshine wherever you are.  Funny really, 'cos I've made a Christmas card when I'm thinking of sunny days - oh well that's me for you.  This fortnight on the International Art and Soul Challenge we're asking you to create something with 'distressing' on it, I know some of my teamies don't like distressing stuff but I'm in me element, probably 'cos I'm a mucky crafter and usually end up with torn bits and pieces and scuffed edges anyway!  Sooo this has been distressed and scuffed to within an inch of it's life - poor card!

I popped this other picture (below) on here because it shows off the top layer of the poinsettia in a better light.  It's a die from Sue Wilson and I use this when I need a bigger flower than usual, although this is by no means large!

Ingredients

'Snowman' Vintage rubber stamp - La Blanche Rubber Stamps (v. old stamp)
6" x 6" White card blank - stash
My Minds Eye - 12" x 12" 'Signature Christmas' Glitter paper pad
Core'dinations 'Whitewash' card stock
Tonic Dies - Scalloped Circle Layering die
Creative Exp. Dies - Finishing Touches 'Trainling Ivy' die
Creative Exp. Dies - Festive Collection 'Classic Poinsettia' die
Creative Exp. Dies - Festive Collection 'Mosaic Poinsettia' die
'Merry Christmas' sentiment clear stamp - unmarked
Pearls and Gems - stash

I do hope you can join in, we are a 'Just For Fun' challenge but we have lovely badges for the DT Favourite and our Top 3 - they are definitely worth displaying on your sidebar!!

Just to let you know - on a totally different subject - since Biscuit's very very expensive tests which included an Ultrasound of his kidneys, several blood and urine tests and a Valium sandwich for his mum and dad (not really), he's been diagnosed with glomerulonephritis  (try saying it, never mind spelling the bloomin' thing!)  which is kidney disease and is usually found in older cats.  As he is such a youngster the Vet said he was probably born with it - bless him, he has had so much to put up with and now he's landed with us!!!  Anyway he's on a special diet and tablets to help his kidneys' function.  Touch wood he's eating his food plus tablet and has put on some of the 800gms he'd lost - which the Vet was extremely pleased about.  He's running around like a mad thing and playing with the sponge ball that came in his care pack.  These really are his favourite toys and, as you may remember me mentioning previously, he insists on playing with the thing up and down the stairs at 4 am.  Not so bad you might think but he insists on talking to himself whilst he's carrying the ball in his mouth, fortunately we can recognise this 'miaow' as "I'm playing, leave me alone" and not a distress call.   Once again it is wonderful here on Planet Susie!

Oh well, I'll leave you to it, don't forget to have a go at creating something for our challenge we'd love to see what you come up with.

Take care of yourselves - lots of hugs to you.

Love  Suexxx

CRAFTS GALORE ENCORE - APRIL - ALWAYS ANYTHING GOES

Bonjour mes amies!  This month over at Crafts Galore Encore we are being sponsored by A Day For Daisies and I chose this lovely image from them for my Anything Goes card.

The prize for our lucky winner is a $12 voucher from ADFD - there is a drawback though - it is just soooooo difficult choosing which images to spend your voucher on!

Ingredients

Image - 'Fashion Bags' from A Day for Daisies
7" x 7" Pearl card blank - Anna Marie Designs
DCWV - 'Chateau Lavender' 12" x 12" card stack
DCWV - 'Le Tres Chic' 12" x 12" card stack
Cottage Cutz Dies - Eiffel Tower
Brenda's Ribbon and Lace Specials - Gems and Cabochon with birdcage
WOC - Roses
Ribbon and doily - stash
Copics

I fussy cut the image out - believe me those handles on the bags were bloomin' hard to get to so I used a scalpel on those bits, luckily the maestro had warned the blood bank just in case I slipped with the 'sharp' end!   He's such a caring other half 😍.   I then glued her onto a label that was part of the Chateau Lavender card stack.  Must admit I really like this card now it's finished, I think it's because I really had no idea how it would turn out when I started it - I just went with the flow so to speak.

We'd love to see your creations on the Challenge blog - don't forget that prize of a $12 voucher!

It's nice going out with all the daffodils blooming now and I love seeing the birds in the garden getting ready - if they haven't done so already - for their new broods.  Chester, the lame Wood Pigeon, seems to be making a Buckingham Palace nest if the size of those twigs he's collecting is anything to go by - he lands near his chosen site and then has to waddle in sideways 'cos his twigs are usually about 2ft long!

Lots of big hugs to you and take care!

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 4 - EMBOSSING

Good afternoon blog friends - this fortnight our theme over at the International Art and Soul Challenge is 'Embossing', now that can be dry embossing or heat embossing or ....... a mixture of both!  Simply put, you decide!!!

I asked the maestro to take a picture of the card slightly opened so that you could see the inside and also the flowers - I love the way you can make these petals stand out - especially the 'outline' open ones.

I actually made two of these cards because I loved the colours and the design so much, the only difference being the sentiment.  I made the first one into an anniversary card and then made this one.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White Pearl card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Sentiment - Tattered Lace Stamps (embossed with silver emb. powder)
Tattered Lace - 'Quilted Cushion' Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Dies - 'Devine Floral' (middle of the card) die
Le Crea' Multi Dies - Flower 006 die
Tattered Lace Dies - Paradise Ferns die
Creative Expressions Dies - Delicate Daisies die (open and complete petals)
Blue, Green, Lilac card - stash
Pearls - ancient stash

Hope you can join in with us over at IntAAS, we've not had too many entries just lately which is such a shame, Jane Bradshaw, our 'big cheese' really does her best with design and info on our blog.  Granted we don't have prizes 'cos we are now a Just For Fun challenge blog, but we still choose a DT Favourite and also DT Top 3 .... and our badges are well worth displaying!!!

So come on peeps, let's see your creations.

Big hugs to you all.

Lots of love Suexxx

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND - MARCH - ANYTHING BUT A CARD!!

Hi there bloggers one and all - I'm posting my creation for the mid-month reminder of the CCAYR.  Our theme is 'Anything but a Card' and I love making Christmas gift boxes so I made another 'milk carton' type box for, say, a bottle of aftershave perhaps, or a new tie (the maestro loves fancy ties for work - just a little obsession of his!!)  Anyway I've made a gift box which is not 'fluffy' but more 'masculine' - just for him!

I made this 8" high box out of a piece of double sided A3 patterned card from Crafters' Companion.  The most difficult part was cutting the two diamond shapes out of the front and rear of the box.  The rest of the box was decorated with snowflakes which were sprayed with Crafters' Companion Stick and Stay and then covered in luscious gold glitter!  I used a piece of thickish acetate that I'd 'saved' from the package of some dies for the diamond aperture.  I'll have to put this somewhere safe for next year and hope that I can find it again (😉).

Check out what my teamies have created over on the CCAYR Challenge - if you'd like to enter, the challenge doesn't close until the end of March and there's this wonderful prize for the winner too!

I'd like to thank you for checking out this gift box and I do hope you can take part in our challenge.  You know I've said this before - you can never be too early for Christmas .............. sorry if I've just made you spit and splutter at the 'puter!!

Big hugs to you all, take care!

Love Suexxx

Good morning everyone - here's my next card for the IntAAS Challenge this fortnight and, as you can see above, our theme is Fancy Borders - another chance to play with my dies (whoopee).  For once there's not a digi in sight, just wonderful dies and a few pearls.

Ingredients
