CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND - MY GDT MEMBER CARD

Good morning to my fellow blogsters and friends.  Welcome and a huge hello to my new follower John - thank you so much for becoming one of my blog followers and also for any comments you may make on my offerings!!!

This time I am posting one of the cards I made for my GDT spot with Christmas Cards All Year Round - http://christmascardsallyearround.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/april-challenge.html.   This is a monthly challenge and the theme is O Christmas Tree!  Brilliant theme I think!  The challenge started at the beginning of April, so you will have plenty of time until the end of April to enter!!

I chose dark colours for this one because I wanted it to appear frosty and cold!!

Ingredients

8 x 8" Kraft card blank
Bazzill Basic Dk Blue card
MME Signature Christmas Patterned papers
Sentiment - from the internet
Dee's Distinctively Stacker Tree Die
IO Dies - Snowflake
Cheery Lynn Holly Corner Die
Memory Box - Snowflake and Corner
Border Strip and Poinsettia from stash
Diamond Dust Stickles

I really enjoyed getting out my Christmas dies and Stickles to make this one, I'd forgotten how much I love making Christmas cards.

I hope you like it and if you have time to leave a comment, I can't tell you how great that would be!   It would be lovely if it also sets you off to make a card for this brilliant challenge, there are two amazing cling stamps from Platypus Creek to win!!!

Well, that's it for now, I hope you have a lovely day and I want to send an extra special hug to my friends out there who have either lost their mojo, feeling down or not feeling too well - you know who you are my lovelies.

Hugs to everyone.

SPRING MEANS DAFFODILS!!!

Hello there my wonderful friends and blog followers - huuuuuge welcome to my new follower as well - I hope you know that you are letting yourself in for a load of Susie type waffling!

Anyway .... Lady Anne has a new Challenge (as from 1 April) there will be a different theme each month, this time it is a sketch, our sponsors are Daisy Doodles and the prize is two of their images.  I am now a DT member on this challenge as well and I would love to see your cards over there.

This is my first card for this NEW Challenge -

I coloured the daffodils with an 'orange' trumpet - yup I have used orange again - but I can see some of them from my kitchen window and they are so bloomin' cheerful.  The squirrels sit amongst them chewin' their nuts (whoa there! they have their monkey nuts providing they leave my bulbs alone!)  this seems to work, although they do bury the darn things in between the bulbs.

This is the sketch we worked to

Ingredients

6 1/2 x 6 1/2" card blank
First Edition papers - Bird Song
DCWV papers - Glitter stack
White doily - free with magazine
Daffodils from stash
Strips of card from snippets box!!
Digi Images - Daisy Doodles
Promarkers
Craftwork Cards - Card Candy

This little card only took me a day to sort out - which, as you know, is super quick for me!  I hope you like it and also manage to get some time to enter the new Challenge here http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/14/post/2013/03/our-first-challenge.html

Thank you for visiting my blog and checking out my cards, I love reading any comments you may leave (nothing rude of course)!  Oh and whilst I am here I have a Guest DT spot over on Christmas Cards All Year Round coming up on 15th April.  I love an excuse to make a Chrimbo card!

Big hugs to you all

BRIGHT OR WHAT????

Hi there my blog buddies and followers - with a special hello and welcome to my new followers.  Thank you so much for reading my blog, I love the fact that you pop by to check out the warblings of a weak and feeble woman - OK that really is OTT but it sounds poetic.

I am posting my new DT card for Lady Anne's Challenge - Stamp Anything Goes No 7.  We were given the digi images by Stamp N Doodle as they are sponsoring us this time.   I had some really bright papers and thought they would look nice with the image.   I think this is probably the first time I have truly picked out the paper before I did the colouring - yay!! Anyway here is my card

Did I mention this was bright??  Must admit though, I am quite pleased with the result because you know I am always bemoaning (is that a word) the fact that I don't use orange!   I hope you have a go at the Challenge - here is a link to it http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/3/post/2013/03/7th-stamp-challenge1.html.   You can enter two creations but there is a limit of five challenges that you can enter including this one.  There were some gorgeous cards last time and I am sure there will be again.

As for my card, well you can see that I used faux stitching (once pronounced 'forks' by one tv craft presenter - oops) around the edge, with a few screw top brads and a bit of chicken wire (well it's a diecut piece actually).  I even trawled through the cupboard to find some Card Candi for the corners!  No holds barred eh???

Ingredients

Corrugated Kraft Card 6x6"
Image from Stamp N Doodle
Bo Bunny Papers - On the Go
Orange card from stash
Spellbinders - Labels 4
Cheery Lynn Die - Chicken Wire Frame
Copics/Promarkers
Card Candi
Screw top brads
Dried Marigold Distress Ink
Green ribbony stuff from stash
Orange banner courtesy of some 'puter wizardry

I hope you like this one and also enter the Challenge.  Thank you so much for stopping by, if you don't have time to leave a comment that is fine, lives are busy and I understand.

Anyway big hugs to all my craft buddies and I will pop over to your blogs asap!

SUE

PS - Graham bought me a gorgeous Bailey's choccy Easter Egg - I can confirm that it tasted as good as it looked - yup it has been demolished!!  He still has his though - but seeing as he isn't at work for another four weeks, there's no chance I will be able to pinch a bit.    I can hear you all going "Poor old Graham, not only does she cause his stubby toes but she tries to half-inch his choccy egg!"    AS IF!!!

I am doing a quick edit to my post in order to enter some Challenges - I actually won a couple when I first started but nothing since -lol!!!  I still love entering though - 'cos everyone loves a trier - allegedly.  Guffawing wildly now!

BLEACHED BUT - ALAS - NOT BLONDE!!!

Hi there lovely blog friends and fellow blogsters - and a special hello to my two new followers Christine and Julie, I really do appreciate you checking out my blog and my 'offerings'.

I don't know about the weather near you but it has been bloomin' cold here and we have had more snow this year than we have had for a long time.  The birds have been fed at least twice a day although the little divils are back on their Sainsbury Basics bread not the Kingsmill!!!  They also have dried worms, bird seed, peanuts, fat balls and bird pellets!  I don't mind them popping in for a feed and a bath (they have tepid water in their bath and bowl in this weather!!!) but I do draw the line at their 'funny' business which they seem to do on the garage roof!  Mind you the snow has stopped all that for the time being - makes me blush!

Anyway enough of my birdy antics and on to my card!  I found this project when I was (still am by the way!!) clearing out my drawers and things.  I did this at a workshop I attended ages and ages ago.  The technique was bleaching and I absolutely loved it.  I haven't done it since though - which is typically moi - but I shall have to have another go.  I stamped the image onto the card using bleach  then, when it was dry, did two images either side using Versamark and gold embossing powder.  Must admit it looks a lot more detailed in the daylight.

I matted the green card onto a piece of gold satin mirri card then onto a piece of black card and finally onto another piece of toning green card.  I used the same toning green card for the border piece and label.

I quite like the effect of the green on black - especially as I don't tend to use much green card.  I hope you like it!  If you have left me a comment I must tell you I am really grateful.  You are all so kind to me and give a boost to my confidence.

Anyway I hope you are managing to do some crafting in this awful weather, we have had a little more snow again today!!  I do need to make some cards for a Guest DT spot coming up on Christmas Cards All Year Round - wow am I getting adventurous or what!  I am usually so backwards in coming forwards! LOL!!   Mind you I really am enjoying being on Lady Anne's Challenges DT, it is really interesting.

Lots of big crafty hugs to you all out there, I'm off to catch up with your blogs now.

See you soon

SUE

TWINCHIE CHALLENGE NO 3 - FLOWER(S)

Good afternoon my fellow blogsters out there!   Well here I am sitting cosy in my tip of a craftroom - my back has been really poorly so I am still working on the sorting out of my stash and Graham is nursing stubbed toes!!  I do need to welcome my three new followers - yay!!! - Crafty Amy, Lisa and Taniaj - thank you so much for becoming followers and I hope you enjoy my blog postings - I do waffle and have a giggle (mostly at myself).

I have two Twinchies to share with you today, I am only allowed to enter one into the Twinchie challenge but I like both of them so am posting two on my blog for you to look at.  The theme this month is Flower or Flowers so I found some gorgeous freebie digis (yes I do buy them as well - lol!) and mini'd them into Twinchie size then coloured them with my Promarkers.  All I can say is thank goodness for my magnifying glass!!!  Here is the Twinchie I am entering into the Challenge -http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/challenge-3-flower-or-flowers.html I like them both really but the little sentiment is so me!!!

You can't really tell from the pic but I have glazed over the ladybird and also glittered the wings of the two bumble bees!  I went round the edges of the two Twinchies with my black Promarker pen.

The second one is also a freebie digi but I can't tell you where they came from because they don't have the originators' names on - such a pity.

I do love this challenge and have not entered for a while now so I am really going to have to find time to enter each month.  I would like to ask anyone reading this to have a go, they really are a pleasure to do.

Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my blog warbles, I did warn you that I waffled - if waffling was in the Olympics I would have a gold medal!!!  LOL!!!!

Lots of hugs to all of you out there, it has been snowing outside but the sun is shining now - at least it isn't -21 degrees Anne-Elise!!!!  I hope you find time to do some crafting this week.

HAVE A VERY MOUSE BIRTHDAY!

Hi there my blog friends and a special welcome to Asmah my new follower!  Thank you all so much for popping over and checking out my little blog planet!

I found this little card whilst I was clearing out a basket with some cards in it.  I know I haven't shown it before and..... it is a House Mouse stamp!!!  I just love this little mouse's tum tum!  It reminds me of my super hubster who, incidentally, pulled in Sainsbury's yesterday!!!  Apparently a 'young' lady asked him if he could help her by getting "The Lady" magazine from a high shelf -because she couldn't quite reach it!  He does come in useful for that sort of thing, being 6' 3"!!!  When he passed it to her she thanked him and then said that she thought he smelled really nice!!!!!   Of course I was thinking ahhh bless, he still has it.  Then he tells me he would have been a toy boy!!!!  I am still guffawing at this final revelation!

The image is one from a set of House Mouse stamps that I bought from Joanna Sheen.  The dark coloured diecut is a Spellbinders die (I found the diecut in my stash and can't remember which one it is - ooops).  The HM stamp was stamped on a piece of white Neenah card and coloured with my Promarkers,  I rounded the corners with a punch.  I had some gorgeous lace in my box which looks very much like Torchon bobbin lace (something I used to make) but this piece was made on a machine. First of all I tinted it slightly with some Distress Ink (think it was Antique Linen), I glued this underneath the die cut and added three flowers with button middles!  You can't see from the pic but there is some Stardust glitter on the petals and the cake icing - which is pink by the way although it looks lilac.  Weird or what??  Sorry that the details are a little sketchy but this was made a while ago and I didn't make notes at the time.

I do hope you like it - if only for the cute little mousey!  My stash is slowly - very very slowly - being put in the new cupboard and on my four new shelves!!!! Yay!  I have cleared out some drawers so far but I really do have to do this in stages because my back isn't so good.  I have found loads of things I had lost - lol - and I even found two Spellbinder dies in the other cupboard!!!

Big hugs to you all

SUCH A BUSY LITTLE BEE!!

Hi there ladies - I need to tell you that the Challenge over at Lady Anne's blog should be Anything Goes - not Spring as I told you in my previous post!  I have just slapped my hand for being a silly billy! Duh - as if I ever change!!!!!!!

Hello there fellow blogsters!!!  As usual I am grovelling 'cos I haven't managed to comment on all of your creations/blogs.  Please accept my apologies, the reason is that I started to fill my new cupboard and then realised that I needed to move all the stuff about in my room.  I have loads of drawers on castors and I have taken all my card blanks out of the drawers so that I can put my card/paper in there.  I am having to sort through 7,000,000 cards and envelopes (I never exaggerate!!) so that I have the ones I use on a regular basis close to me and the others can go in the cupboard - naturally at the bottom.  Failing that, I will be getting rid of some of them.    This is why hubby is still stubbing his toes!  No need to try and make me feel guilty Sue and Jenny - I am shameless!!  LOL!

I had made a card for my DT challenge and then the images were changed so I have used the basis of my card with a different image and am posting it on my own blog.  I love this image, she really is a cute little bee-girl.

I haven't popped a sentiment on there because I don't have an occasion for this one yet.  I put a little Stardust on her wings and the flowers and a little glaze on the buttons at her neck and on her shoes.  Oh and I also glazed the tips of her antennae.  I wanted a hexagon shape because I thought of a honeycomb when I was putting it all together.  I didn't have a very big one so I cut out the Grand Scalloped circles and then cut the scallops off to form the said hexagon!  Yay an idea that worked!!

 Ingredients
White Centura Pearl card
Floral paper from First Editon paper pad
Spellbinders Grand Circle
Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Circle
Digi stamp from Dearie Dolls
Pinflair Pearl Wand
Promarkers
WOC flowers/leaves
Daffodils and sunflower from stash
Stardust/Glossy Accents
Peel Off Borders

I hope you leave a comment if you can, I would like to thank you so much for visiting my blog and having a peep at my work.  I know I tell you how happy it makes me to read your comments and last Thursday even my hairdresser said that my blog was the best thing that had happened to me recently.  I really was down after our two furry girls and our feral furry boy died last year but blogging has certainly helped me along.  As hubby is my photographer and carpenter (stop laughing) I feel he has been helped as well.

Anyway I will leave you to your new day - I hope you manage to craft a little.  Remember, the dust will come back tomorrow!  I am intending to do my ironing - tomorrow!!!

Huge crafty hugs to you all
