MALE COLLEAGUE'S RETIREMENT CARD

Hello there blog buddies - the only thing I created yesterday was either a mess or (as my hubby puts it) chaos!!!   Well I was sitting playing with some Petal  Pairs Punches, supposedly making flowers, but I ended up going off at a tangent as normal.

Because of my lack of creativity yesterday I thought I would post a card I made back in March for an ex colleague of mine.  He is really into his golf and was so looking forward the time when he could spend all day on the 'links'.  Not sure whether this is the right terminology or whether I should have typed 'green'.  Hey ho!

I know these stamps are a bit like Marmite - other brands are available - you either love 'em or hate 'em.  I honestly believe they have their place in the crafting world (lol - I'm on me soap box) and I have several friends who love the cards I make for them using these sets. One of my friend says she has a real good 'guffaw' when she sees them!  Yay.

I don't make many 'adult' male cards - ask my poor hubby if he gets a birthday card!!  Mind you I think I will have to this year because he keeps seeing me making items for challenges, so I DO have the time.

Anyway here is my card

Ingredients :

8 x 8 Kraft card
White card with a stripe in the actual card
Tartan paper from my stash
Co-ordinations card
Labels 1 and 8
That Touch of .... mask
Piece of corrugated card (stripped)
Murray and Ethel stamps
Black Soot DI
Promarkers

I am sure you will tell me if you love or hate this one - please feel free - I love reading your comments, as you know.  Any comment good or bad helps us crafters grow - well that's how I feel anyway.

Big hugs to you all out there in blogland.

I am entering my card in the following challenge(s):

WEEEEEEEEEEE! TWINCHIES CHALLENGE - AUTUMN

Hello blog friends - sorry I haven't been creating for a couple of days - I have had to do 'other' things instead - you know how it is, needs must as they say.  Anyway I wanted to enter the Twinchies Challenge because I love doing these little pieces - my last two have been made into 6x6 cards and I am so pleased with the result.   Well, as I said, here is my entry for the http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/ challenge.

Back when I first started with my cards, I bought loads of diecuts from one of the shopping channels and I used to sit for hours with my punches and the 'waste' making little flowers and leaves in all different colours and shapes.  I'd spend more time doing that than actually making anything!!  Mind you they have been useful and I remembered where they were this morning - yay!!

I love love love House Mouse and this little fella is so cute that I thought he would look good floating down into a pile of autumnal leaves!!!  This really is my favourite season, I am trying to persuade hubby to take me to Canada for a holiday in their autumn/fall.  The colours - wow I wouldn't know whether I was on this earth or Fullers!!   I think some of my blog friends will know what Fuller's Earth is - lol.  I am going to pop and take a look at some of your blogs now.

Thank you so much for checking out my blog today, I hope you like little HM as much as I do.  Please feel free to leave me a comment, I do like to read them.

Hugs to you all.

HEARTS : CARD MAKIN MAMAS CHALLENGE

Hi there blog friends and a special welcome to my new followers woo woo! - well I am back from the dentist - yay - unfortunately I did not escape scot free - boo!  I have to have some sort of metal post bunged in me tooth now - one right near the front so it will feel as if it's going up me nose!  Enough information???  I think so too!  I just felt that I HAD to share - lol!

Anyway I made a very simple card yesterday (to stop me thinking about today's pending visit to the D) for the Card Makin Mamas Challenge on Hearts - http://cardmakinmamas.blogspot.co.uk/.   I wanted to enter this one because I found this particular 'topper' in my bits and pieces box last week.  It was a stencil that I dabbed some glue through then when it was nicely tacky I popped some of the gilding flakes from Crafty Notions on top.  I don't remember the name of the stencil maker or the glue unfortunately.  I loved the effect but didn't do anything with it at the time.

Anyway I toddled orf to bed on Tuesday night and was thinking about the design, as you do, and lo and behold this is exactly what came into my head - no changing my mind at all!!!  There are three pics because it is difficult to see the shimmery bits in a photograph!

The red in bottom lefthand corner of the pic above is the nearest I can see to the actual colour of the satin mirri card.

I spritzed the front of a 6x6  black card with Crafty Notions Gold Shake n Spray and Cherrylicious Shake n Spray (I have had these for ages) then gave it a quick blast with my heat gun.  I then cut two mats from bright red satin mirri card and one from black card.  I put everything together as in the pic and added my flowers.

I hope you like this one and thank you so much for stopping by today.  Please let me know what you think of my design.

Hugs to you all.

SUNDAY STAMPER - WEEK 221 -TULIPS FROM AMSTERDAM

Hi there blog friends, this is going to be a short post today because I am in the middle of tidying my craftroom - yeah there I said it!!   I had two crafty parcels today so I just have to clear some space in my room otherwise I will not be able to craft or move ..... at all!!!  I was inspired by Hels Sunday Stamper challenge http://pinkleart.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/sunday-stamper-week-221-tulips-from.html.   I have a stamp (a stamp - more like hundreds) that I have never used but I really really love it, so this is the basis (or floral part) of my design.

As I said this is going to be short so here is my card.

I used those little glass domes over the centres and added some seed beads in black aurora borealis and blue.  I left the little box for the sentiment because I didn't have an occasion in mind at the time.

I hope you like this one, thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave - yesterday's comments were truly brilliant.  My confidence is soaring at the moment - hence this very bright card.  Boy oh boy that green is enough to set yer teeth on edge!!

I'll catch up with your blogs soon - I have to finish my room and then I have a visit to the dentist on Thursday (I'm telling you this because I will be like a piece of limp lettuce tomorrow worrying about it, so if I manage to find my laptop it will be a miracle.)

Hugs to you all out there.

WITH LOVE

Good afternoon blog friends - is summer here at last??  I have been out this morning with my summer clothes on - no jacket!!!  Well I am hoping that we are going to have a few (no loads) more days of sunshine.

Thank you for the comments left on my blog for yesterday's card.  Such fabulous words again - you really make me soooo chuffed!   Now for today's card which was finished off yesterday ready for hubby to photograph - what a partnership!!   I am going to enter this into two challenges - boy am I getting bold or what - the first one is Fab 'N' Funky - No 136 Based on a Sketch  http://fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.co.uk/.  The second one is Ladybug Crafts - Anything Goes http://ladybugcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/.

I am really getting into the challenges now and, whereas before, I only made cards for occasions or commissions I now make them for challenges - this is the best fun in the world.  I really do feel as if I have made sooo many friends out there - I might not have loads of followers but I do feel as if I know you ladies via our craftiness!!   I don't think there is a nicer crowd than crafters!

Ooops orf on one again - here is my card

I am trying to use items I have bought and then 'filed' away for future use.  I have 2/3 Sarah Kay stamps but saw some of her 'Rub-ons' on C&C and I thought they looked really good so I bought them.  I used one and forgot about them.  Blogging has made me realised I should use different things as well as different techniques.   The nice thing about these rub-ons is that they have a matt finish and the edges blend in really well.  There is one thing that I would change now and that is the way I have put the lace on - I think I could have done it a lot better - my ocd strikes again.

Ingredients :

6 x 6 paper from MME - freebie with a craft mag
Green card from my stash
Labels 10
Fancy Framed Tags 2
Flourish dies - misc
Sarah Kay rub-on
Victorian Velvet DI
Flowers/lace from Wild Orchid Crafts

I hope you like my card, thank you so much for stopping by, please mention me to your friends, I would love to have some more followers and - if I ever reach the magic figure of 50, I will be doing a BLOG CANDY!!!  Mind you if that day looks a long time coming - I will do one sooner - now I'm giggling, do I sound desperate!!!

Hugs to you all my craft blog friends.

Today I thought I would post a card I made back in June (pre-blog days!), I want to enter it into the Gem of a Challenge - A Boy Thing challenge.  http://pinkgemchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/    The image is one from a Polka Doodles cd called Pretty Tuff. I have mentioned before that I am not really a cd person but I do love Polka Doodles and Polly Pickleberry cds.

I really enjoyed making this card and I do think that Nikki Hall is really talented.  She has a brilliant imagination and makes some wonderful pieces.

Polka Doodles Pretty Tuff cd

AUGUST RUDOLPH DAY CHALLENGE - INSPIRED BY SHEENA

Hi there blog friends and thank you to everyone who has left a comment on my blog recently.  I am very chuffed!!!

I had another go at card making for Christmas yesterday, plus a card for another Challenge - wow I am speeding up quite a bit recently.  I think this is what I needed - a blog to share my cards and for me to be inspired by my blog friends.  Me creative jooooces are working!!!!

Anyway (sorry I went orf at a tangent) - here is another card for the Rudolph day Challenge at the http://stampingforpleasure.blogspot.co.uk/ .   These are some of Sheena Douglass' stamps and my card was definitely inspired by her.  I love the way she stamps and then drags the ink in with a waterbrush.  I added some glitter on the roof etc for a snowy effect.  There is a punched strip (Martha Stewart) behind the main stamped piece with a little bit of lace on it and then some poinsettia and flourish diecuts.

I'm grateful that I was able to craft yesterday 'cos I had an awful night last night - I have atrial fibrillation and my heart goes ten to the dozen on occasions.  I end up feeling as if I have run a marathon - without any benefits!  Anyway I think I might have a little snooze now.  Catch you later blog friends.  I am so happy with all of my new blog friends - even my hubby has noticed!!!!

Big hugs to you all and thanks for stopping by.
