INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 27 - USE STUFF YOU ALREADY OWN (IN YOUR STASH)

Hi there - this fortnight our theme is 'Use stuff you already own' I'm interpreting that as old stuff in my stash!  Well not only is my stash old but so is the card - cheeky or what!!!   An ex-colleague wanted a card for his son who is a big fan of BMWs and also relaxing!!!!  I made it back in early 2016 but have never posted it.

I understand that his son was really pleased with this card - I think (though cannot swear to it) the BMW strip was in a card kit I had way back when I started card making.  All the papers were in my 'Bits and Pieces' box and the digi had been sitting in my box of images waiting to be coloured.

This really is a great reason for getting out your old stash and actually using it!!!  We are looking forward to seeing your creations in our challenge - you can enter (here) - oh and while you're there check out the work of my very talented teamies.

Must be off now as we're going into town to pick up a small TV and some inks for my much loved and much used printer!!!

Big hugs to you all - take care and if you are feeling a little poorly (Sue J), I   really hope you get better soon.

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 26 - TEXTURE

Hi there everyone - this time on the IntAAS challenge we are looking for texture on your creations.  I decided to have a play with some Cosmic Shimmer Texture Pastes - 'cos I hadn't played with them before - typical moi!!!  Mind you, now that I've had my first go, I don't think it will be long before I have another play -they really are beautiful.  Because this was new to me I struggled a bit with how to embellish and finally decided to keep it totally simple with just a few gems and a die cut sentiment - tra laaaaa!!!!!

Ingredients

7" x 7" White square card - Anna Marie Designs (cut down to 7" x 6")
Memory Box Stencils - 'Shine' ref 88505
Poppy Stamps Dies - 'Fancy Happy Birthday' die
Cosmic Shimmer Texture Paste - Frosty Heather and Chic Moss
Black card - stash
Gems - stash

Although I initially struggled ('cos I'm not used to these pastes) I ended up really enjoying myself and I'm also pleased with my end result!    Our theme runs for two weeks and we'd love to see any of your projects as long as they have texture - simple really!  Pop over to the IntAAS Challenge blog (here) and check out the creations of my teamies.

Anyway I'm orf now 'cos I'm just watching Blue Planet II - I lurve this type of programme sooo much!

Big hugs to you all and take care!!!

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 25 - DO SOMETHING DIGITAL

Good afternoon fellow blogsters - I'm just here to post my next card for the IntAAS DT Challenge and it's flippin' freezin' - we've actually got a snowstorm going on outside - well six flakes and a bit of wind constitutes a snowstorm here!!    Back to the card - our theme is to do something digital.  I've made a card with digital papers and a digital image but you can also make a totally digital creation on your 'puter if you wish - I just haven't a clue where to start with that idea though!

I haven't put a specific sentiment on here just a die-cut 'hello' across the bottom of the card.

Ingredients

7" x 7" Ivory card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Brown card mat - stash
Digital pink floral paper - Papers by Lozzy
Digital beige swirl paper - Papers by Lozzy
Digital image - 'Lizzy Lovely' from Oddball stamps
Copics
Hello sentiment die - Penny Black creative Dies
All other dies from China

I hope you can join in our Challenge this fortnight, you can enter here.  Of course you can be as creative as you like and as I've said many times before we love seeing your projects on our blog.

I think the snow may be thick enough now to do another Snow Angel - mind you the lawn was soooo soggy underneath that I may end up a dirty and very muddy Snow Angel!!!

Sending you lots of big hugs and be careful won't you.

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS ALL YEAR ROUND - JANUARY - THANK YOU

Good afternoon everyone - I'm here to post my mid-month Challenge card for CCAYR - now you might have noticed that we have changed our name from Christmas Cards All Year Round to Christmas Crafts All Year Round - this is because we are more than happy for you to create whatever you like (as long as it goes with the theme that is!).

Sorry about the colours on here - the gems are all a gorgeous red - unfortunately the weather was absolutely atrocious when the maestro took the pics for me and no matter what he did he couldn't get a better one.  Oh and there's a red glittery strip around the embossed piece of card which looks gorgeous in real life.

Our theme is a Christmas 'Thank You' so I thought of a special card for a friend who had been really helpful throughout the year.   However having told you about our theme, we are accepting Anything Goes entries as well because there was an accidental faux pas on a Challenge Information site.  Not to worry!

The January prize winner will received the following crafty items

I do hope you can enter our Challenge (here) - you can never be too early starting your Christmas crafting when it comes down to it!!!

Lots of big hugs to you all - hope you are keeping nice and warm as well.

Love to everyone Suexxx

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 24 - WHITE ON WHITE

Good afternoon everyone - well here's my second card for 2018 and our theme is White on White chosen by my friend Christine H.    She did say that we could add a smidge of another colour so I added some light blue to make the scene through the window stand out a little.  In actual daylight the blue is a lot paler than shown but I think the camera flash altered it slightly.  I've seen similar cards to this on t'internet and I really wanted to make one just like them.

I thought this could be either for Christmas or a winter Wedding  - what do you reckon?

We'd love to see your WOW creations - the challenge runs for a fortnight and you can enter here.  Whilst you're there check out the DT creations, they are gorgeous and really inspirational.

Anyway must be off now places to go, people to see, cards to make - you know how it is.  In the meantime I would like to wish you a wonderful 2018, if you are under the weather at the moment I'm hoping you have a speedy recovery too!

Big hugs to you all.

CRAFTY CALENDAR CHALLENGE - JANUARY - MYTHICAL CREATURES (fairies, goblins, pixies, dragon's etc)

Happy New Year to you all - hope you had a good one whether you celebrated or not!  I hate New Year so I was tucked up in bed with me hot water bottle fast asleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!

So - here's my first card for 2018.  Over at the Crafty Calendar Challenge site we have a theme of Mythical Creatures - examples are in the title of the post but if you can think of anything else we'd love to see what you come up with.  I used 'Growing a Flower' from a Day for Daisies - isn't she gorgeous?

Ages ago I was having a play with some spritzy colours and ended up with a piece of paper that I put away for 'ron'.   When I knew that our challenge was mythical this paper said it all - so I coloured the fairy with her flower in the same lilac and turquoise shades.  I also used those colours for the die cuts although I sprayed the toadstool with Pearl spray (Crafters' Companion) afterwards.

Our challenge runs until 28 January and we have two absolutely fantastic sponsors

and

Pop on over to the Crafty Calendar Challenge and check out the work of my teamies, we'd love you to join in (here).

Bye for now, just off to give Biscuit his medicine, he has his stuff for his kidneys and every other day (ie today) he has to have an aspirin to stop him having a 'stroke' in his kidneys.  We'll do anything to keep him as healthy as possible 'cos he really is gorgeous.

Hugs to you all

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 23 - LOTS OF SPARKLE

Morning everyone - this fortnight over at the International Art and Soul challenge our theme is - whoopee - 'Lots of Sparkle' and as I'm in full Christmas mode I made another Christmas card!!

I use images on most of my cards,  'cos I love to colour and use markers - this must stem from when I was a little girl and I had those lovely Crayola crayons - but this time I just used my dies.   The snowflake die-cut is sitting in an embossed 'reverse' shape of itself, which is explained in the video link in the next paragraph.

One of the ladies in an FB group I'm in told us about a lady called Jennifer McGuire (I've added a link to her page) and she did a technique called 'Reverse Die Impressions'.  Well I watched the video and was totally drawn in, many of you will probably have seen this but it's new to me and I wanted to try it out.  I won't explain how I did it 'cos I wouldn't do it justice.  Just take a peek at Jennie's handiwork - it's beautiful and I must admit I'm quite pleased with the results of my efforts too!!

Soooo it's all up to you now - as I said yesterday I know it's a busy time of year but if you have any last minute cards to create, make sure they sparkle and enter them into our challenge (here).  We'd love to see your creations although, of course, they don't have to be Christmas cards!!!

Catch up with you later and thanks again for checking out my blog.  Sending you big hugs.

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 22 - BUTTONS AND BOWS

Good afternoon fellow blogsters.  This fortnight our theme over at the IntAAS Challenge blog is 'Buttons and Bows'.  As it is nearly Christmas I thought I would be able to fit buttons and bows into a Christmas card without too much trouble.   In my stash I've had some really tiny buttons for a while and I decided to use them as 'berries'!!!

This is a 7" x 7" card so the wreath had to be quite large and the thought of using my two 'pine spray' dies over and over again through the machine was too daunting so I used my 'fern' punch and asked the maestro for his help.  I promised that he would get a mention in my post!!!  Bless him - he sat there with a piece of green card and punched out over 65 of these fronds (I think it was nearer 100 by the time he'd finished but I've got some left for other cards).  I cut out a few holly leaves to add to the design so I wasn't idle (sorry for giggling here!!!)  The sentiment is stamped and embossed with red embossing powder and I curled it slightly to make it stand away from the centre of the card.  The gold tape around the edge is quite glittery and shiny but it doesn't 'shed' glitter all over the place.  I love this tape sooooo much and have it in three different widths.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Creative Expressions Embossing Folder - 'Snowflake Lattice'
Elizabeth Craft Designs Dies - 'Holiday Holly and Berries' die
Die-Namics Dies - Stiched Fishtail Flag Stax die
Punch - fern fronds (no name on the punch)
Sentiment - 'Merry Christmas' free with Love Cardmaking magazine
My Colour Studio - 'Red' Ultra Fine Embossing powder
Tartan ribbon and tiny red buttons - ancient stash from the cupboard!!
Glitter tape - stash

I hope you have the time to enter our challenge this fortnight (here) - we all love to see your designs and whilst you're there why don't you check out the work of the rest of the DT.

Big hugs to you all and take care!

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND - NOVEMBER - CANDIES, COOKIES OR GINGERBREAD

Good morning fellow bloggers out there - I'm posting my mid-month reminder for the CCAYR Challenge today.  I've had this stamp for a while and thought as the theme included cookies (although over here we'd call them biscuits) this little cutie would be perfect.

I really enjoyed making this card because it was an idea which just came to me - like a light bulb moment!!!   Since having my own blog and becoming a DT member I've started using loads of digi images but my last three cards (one not yet posted) have all been stamps and I'd forgotten how rewarding it is to get a crisp image from a stamp I've inked and 'plotted'.

Ingredients

6" x 6" white card blank - Create and Craft (very old stash)
House Mouse Rubber stamp - 'Christmas Fireplace' set from Joanna Sheen
Sentiment stamp - 'Merry Little Christmas' set from Apple Blossom Clear Stamps
Label stamps - Christmas set from Lily of the Valley Clear Stamps
Tree Lights and rectangle die - Unbranded dies
Copics and Flexmarkers
White Glitter - free with magazine

I hope you can join in our challenge (here) we have a lovely crafty prize for the winner -

I'll say tara now 'cos I'm scheduling this one for tomorrow morning - hope I've done it right, I won't have time to fiddle with it 'cos we're going swimming and I'm hoping to manage at least 60 lengths before they kick us out!

Lots of big hugs to you all and I hope you are feeling OK.

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 21 - AUTUMN COLOURS

Hi there peeps - I'm posting a card I made for the IntAAS challenge this fortnight where our theme is 'Autumn Colours' - wonderful!!!  I decided to do something a little different this time.   I used a stamp that I've had for a while now to make an A5 card which is also quite simple in design (definitely simple for me that is).  Although it doesn't show very well in the pic, I stamped several images and then layered the open flower heads onto the main picture.   I'm not normally one for this technique but I did think that it would look good if I shaped the flowers a little.

Ingredients

A5 White Card blank - stash
Image - 'Boxed Daisies Trio' clear stamp from Woodware Craft Collection
Sentiment - Unbranded
Orange and green card - stash
Gems - stash
Copics/Flexmarkers

The stamp has a little border around it so I coloured that in a 'russety' brown then added the green and orange matting layers with a little black border to co-ordinate.  I shall be putting this one in my box for a future birthday.

Check out the cards that my teamies have made, then why not make one yourself and enter our challenge (here).  You have two weeks and as this is definitely the right time of year to be making Christmas cards (although some of you will be finishing off your cards by now!!!) why not try autumnal colours.

Anyway enough of me - I'm off to play with some House Mouse stamps - yum!  Sending you all big hugs ....

CRAFTY CALENDAR CHALLENGE - NOVEMBER - AUTUMN COLOURS

Hello friends and fellow bloggers - I'm posting a card for the Crafty Calendar November challenge where our theme is 'Autumn Colours'.    I know I've gone on about this before but autumn really is my favourite time of year because of the absolutely amazing reds, yellows, russets and oranges - and yes I tried to get them all onto my card!!!

When you see the picture it does look extra 'busy' because of the leaves I stamped onto the background card.  I used my ancient Perfect Pearls on them and in real life they look more subtle but the camera insisted on picking up every bit of the pearly sheen - typical!!

Ingredients

7" x 7" White Card blank - Anna Marie Designs
Image from t'internet  Colouring Pages
Berries - Anna Marie Designs
Leaves - Wild Orchid Crafts
Flat Pearls, Dies, Leaf Stamps - Unbranded
Card - stash
Perfect Pearls
Flexmarkers

I really enjoyed using these colours with the berries and leaves and love how the camera picks up all the different hues  but I must apologise for the fact that the Perfect Pearls are shining so much that they have almost obliterated the 'Best Wishes' sentiment in the top left corner.  That aside I do hope you can enter our challenge (here)  this month, we have a fabulous crafty surprise for the winner!!!

Lots of big hugs to you all and don't forget to check out my DT teamies' cards!!!

Good afternoon out there - I'm posting my card for this fortnight's challenge over at IntAAS.  The theme is use a tag or a charm and as it's so near to Christmas I made another card to pop into my 'collection'.

I used  a trio of penguin images from LOTV, they really are so cute and look great whatever size you make them.  I wanted very small images to cover the centre of my snowflake die cuts.

Ingredients

7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
LOTV - Trio of Penguins - Penguin Waving, Penguins Balancing, Bobble hat Penguin
Creative Expressions Embossing Folder - 'Snowflake Lattice'
Snowflake die - Unbranded
'Merry Christmas' sentiment - Unbranded
Glitter Washi Tape - Unbranded
Promarkers
Ribbon and Snowflake charm - stash
Stardust Stickles
White glitter (for the hats) free from magazine

CRAFTY CALENDAR CHALLENGE - MID OCTOBER - HALLOWEEN

Hi there - just here posting a reminder card for you to check out.  We'd love you to enter our challenge this month over at the Crafty Calendar blog - this time of year our challenge is Halloween so even if you don't take part in the celebrations you can still make a card or some other Halloween creation.

I wanted to use orange and black card and decided to have a little play  around with a ruler, pencil and blade (phew!!) - the above was the result.  I just love those bats btw - we had some fruit bats flying around the island when we were on holiday, they sure are big and so flippin' clumsy when they land in the trees - I say land but it's more like a crash when they grab the branches by their 'toes' then just hang there.

Must add this in here, I started this post on 18 October ready for adding my card and scheduling.   The maestro asked me to help him look for some sort of charger thingy, I ended up being distracted and sorted all my drawers - and I mean ALL of them - in every room!  Sorry Sue J - you know how easily my mind wanders!

Ingredients

7" x 7" White card blank - Anna Marie Designs
All Dressed Up image - 'All Dressed Up for Mummy'
Black/Orange card - stash
Dies - Unbranded
Copic Markers

We have two sponsors this month and that means two prize winners!

Dr Digi's House of Stamps

All Dressed Up Stamps

We love seeing all your work and hope you enter our Halloween challenge this month.  This challenge finishes on 28 October so you have a few days yet.

Hugs to you all - and take care of yourselves plus all your pets on Halloween especially!!

CHRISTMAS CARDS ALL YEAR ROUND - OCTOBER - MONOCHROMATIC BROWNS

Good morning out there - what a peculiar day again!  This weather really is so weird and I definitely don't like these odd coloured skies.  At least it's nice and reasonably calm (!) in the craft room - lol.  Anyway today I'm posting a mid-month reminder card for the CCAYR challenge.  Our theme this time is Monochromatic Browns - loved this challenge to be honest!!!

Ingredients

7" x 7" Pearl Ivory Card - Anna Marie Designs
LOTV - Pre-coloured image from Art Pad
Die-namics Dies - Wonky Stitch Square Stax
GCD Studios Paper - 'Joyful Peace' 8" x 8" pad
LOTV Paper - 'Krafty Christmas' 8" x 8" pad
Ribbon - Brenda's Lace and Ribbon Supplies (FB)
Sentiment - Clear Stamps from Creative Stamping magazine
Leaves/Buttons - stash

I love monochromatic browns and this one was right up my street!  The pre-coloured image is from Lily of the Valley and the leaves on her floral wreath were a little green so I went over them with a few brown Promarkers to dull them down a bit.   Hope you can join in with us this month, Christmas is getting nearer and nearer so you need to be creating all those cards!!!   Being cheerful keeps me going dontcha know!!!   You can enter our challenge here and while you're there please check out the DT cards, my teamies are really clever!

Lots of hugs to you.

INTERNATIONAL ART AND SOUL - CHALLENGE NO 19 - NOT SQUARE OR RECTANGLE

Hi there - I'm here with another challenge from IntAAS with the theme 'Not Square or Rectangle'.   I've posted a couple of cards that I 'created' for last Christmas which were made for 'easy posting'.  They are really small - cut from a 5" x 5" card - and flat, so that I could post them anywhere.

Must admit that easel cards really are a favourite of mine and I love making them in different shapes.

Ingredients

5" x 5" white card blanks - stash from eons ago
Tattered Lace Dies - Hexagon nesting die
Hedgehog stamps - free from a magazine - again eons ago
Bazill Basic Paper - 6" x 6" 'Countdown to Christmas' pad
Kaisercraft Paper - 6.5" x 6.5" 'Just Believe' pad
Crafters' Companion Paper - 'Vintage Christmas Collection' pad
Memory Box Dies - Stitched Snowflakes die
Britannia Dies - Set of 3 Poinsettia die
Other die cuts were from bits I had in my 'extras' box

I hope you can join in our challenge (here) this fortnight - you can make anything you like as long as it fits in with the theme - what about gift boxes??  We'd love to see them on the blog and although we aren't sponsored there's a great badge for the Winner's side bar!!!

Anyway must be off now as I have to catch up on that TV programme 'Liar' - I seem to have got myself hooked, although I do tend to shout at the screen and the maestro keeps wondering if I'm shouting to him!!!

Lots of hugs to you all and please take care, the sky is a very peculiar colour today - Yukky Yellow!!

CRAFTY CALENDAR CHALLENGE - OCTOBER - HALLOWEEN

Hi there all you crafty peeps!  Oh my it's October already - this year has just flown by and it seems really weird because we're on holiday in the sun and here I am scheduling a Halloween post!!  I expect back home it is cold - definitely not 30 deg as it is here.

Anyway here's my card for this month's Crafty Calendar Challenge.  I chose this fabulous witch from Dr Digi- although I think she's more giggly than gruesome!

We have two sponsors this month so we'll be having two prizes (now that makes sense even to me and I'm permanently foggy!!)

and

I do hope you can enter this challenge, there are some great images, dies, embellishments out there and we love seeing your creations - remember it doesn't have to be a card as long as it fits in with the theme!

Image - 'Witchy Wilma' Dr Digi's House of Stamps
7" x 7" White Card Base - Anna Marie Designs
Orange card - Bazill Basics
'Boo' paper - Digital paper but I can't remember where I bought it from
Tonic Dies - Card Layering Circle die
Tattered Lace Dies - 'Drip Edge' on black card lower border
Other dies - Unbranded
Copic/Flexmarker and Graph-it Markers
Black Glitter for the eight-legged beasties!

I am now back home - couldn't manage to finish this on holiday 'cos I was busy snorkelling - I shall explain about that later on - burnt bum and everything!

Our leader (or Lady Boss as I like to think of her) works really hard on our blog so I would like to encourage you all to enter this challenge.  We love seeing what you come up with and Sue manages to get fabulous sponsors for our prizes - just look at those two above!!   Two sponsors means two winners so come on and join in the challenge (here).

Oh well just off for a little nap - I was awake and rarin' to go at 7.10 am (me awake at 7 !!!!!) - still think I'm on Maldivian time!  Now I'm flagging again and there's a pile of ironing 10 ft high - methinks that will have to wait until tomorrow.  Oh and Biscuit is really chuffed to be back home - he's flat out on his dad's knees with his head on one arm of the chair and his back paws on the other - the cat I mean not the maestro!!!

Hugs to you all
